Amazing Grace is one of favorite pieces of music. I’ve always loved it, but it brought new meaning when my brother in law told me of it’s origin.. The composer was a slave trader in the 1770’s. He had a near death experience and realized what he was doing was inhumane. It was at this point he wrote the piece. Also, Andrea Bocelli is one of my favorite artists. His rendition of this beautiful song is the best I’ve heard.
I don't know how on earth I missed this spectacular duet from two of my favorite singers, but I'm glad TH-cam randomly threw it into suggestions for me

Am old and disabled now, so cannot afford to take care of a pet with all of the financial responsibility the way they should be. In HS, had a hamster named Munchie/Chewy. I was 17. That stinking little bwat figured out how grab the metal cage bar, and to slide the orange tray out, escape, and did some chewing around the inside of my closet... at 2 a.m.! On a school night. More than once! All lights were on, everyone was looking for her. Ahhhh... back to bed, locked up w a drill hole and a small bent metal paperclip. Thanks, dad! A few years ago, as an adult, was a PAWS Foster home for 3 years. Growing up, 4 sibs, and just about any animal short of an elephant and a giraffe, lol. Mom bred Toy and Tea Toy poodles and Poms. We had a black standard poodle (Pierre) that would open the kitchen cab under the sink and get us an orange. Pierre, go get an orange. He would. Mom and my baby sis had several Pommies. At 82, mom has a Long Haired Chihuahua. At awhile back, she chased off an 8-point Buck over the Rhododendron and down the long driveway. MY YARD! Funnier than kraut! My little brother had 3 little babies under 5 and a few Pits along the way. They would roll on them, ride them like a horse, and they never hurt the kids. We had 2 German shepherds (King and Kong), a poodle/mutt mix named Friskie/Froo, cats, exotic birds, hamsters, Guinea pigs, baby ball pythons (3), hedgehogs, Banty Red Roosters (for the eggs), chickens, 2 horses, a cow (Vern, who gave us all PTSD, when dad said that was the steaks on the grill on the back deck, lol, dad hunted and fished), rabbits, etc. My fav pet? A Beagle/Cocker mix. Rescue in DFW area. Bandit, because of his eyes. He had a mask. He would raise his left eyebrow and back talk when you said No Bark. Little runt! Had a milk crate wire tied to the back of my mt bike with a towel in the bottom, and some bungie's hooked through his harness. Just the backroads. Bandit, want to go for a ride? That little tiny puppy would sit down at my mt. bike and not move. He loved it. Taught him to fetch, come, sit and release in 2 weeks when he was 3 months old. Smart as a whip. Also had a Goffin Cockatoo, named Angel. She was snowy white, except for under her wings and her Crest (the feathers on the top of their head) So beautiful. She was a Rescue, too. Took a few chunks of flesh out before I learned to use a bath towel to handle her. It took a few months, but she learned her name, and that I loved her. She loved snuggling up to me, and my scratching under her wings. She, too, would backtalk, when I told her it was bedtime, at night. Pointing, I'd say, Angel, time for bed. Go to your cage (up a ladder from the floor to her cage, lol!), She was learning some words, like NO, would squawk. I'd step closer, she'd squawk again, grumble (grinding her beaks together), grumbling all the way in quasi-english/bird squawking noises, just like a kid. Will never forget her. Google them. (Funny birds/Cockatoos on YT? Ditto for ferrets. My sis had 2.) Funnier than kraut! They are a Mini version of the full Cockatoos. Mom and sis had a few Exotic birds along the way, as well. Blue and Golds, Sunset huge parrots. Then there was Baby Grey, an African Grey Parrot. We'd all go off to work, school, etc. He learned to mimic the phone ringing. 1 phone, 5 teenagers, 2 parents. The phone would ring. IT'S FOR ME, and we would all scramble for the phone. Dial tone. MOM!!! That little runt had figured out that it he made the phone ringing sound, he would get us all running! Great entertainment... for him!!! Lol. Not so much when you're a teenager, right? MOM!!!! Reply please? I am a safe and secure sounding board. It takes time, and someone to bounce the thoughts around with. An objective third-person, perspective? I am so sorry. I am over 60; thus, the name. Most call me MOL, short/acronym for Major Old Lady, aka mom... to all.
How old was your little furry friend? What breed, gender? Would you share some fond memories w me? Would be so awesome to keep up the convo. It helps our hearts heal, like time.
Miss the many pets along life's journey, to be sure. Am old and disabled now, so cannot afford to take care of a pet with all of the financial responsibility the way they should be.
In HS, had a hamster named Munchie/Chewy. I was 17. That stinking little bwat figured out how grab the metal cage bar, and to slide the orange tray out, escape, and did some chewing around the inside of my closet... at 2 a.m.! On a school night. More than once! All lights were on, everyone was looking for her. Ahhhh... back to bed, locked up w a drill hole and a small bent metal paperclip. Thanks, dad!
A few years ago, as an adult, was a PAWS Foster home for 3 years. Growing up, 4 sibs, and just about any animal short of an elephant and a giraffe, lol.
Mom bred Toy and Tea Toy poodles and Poms. We had a black standard poodle (Pierre) that would open the kitchen cab under the sink and get us an orange. Pierre, go get an orange. He would.
Mom and my baby sis had several Pommies. At 82, mom has a Long Haired Chihuahua. At awhile back, she chased off an 8-point Buck over the Rhododendron and down the long driveway. MY YARD! Funnier than kraut!
My little brother had 3 little babies under 5 and a few Pits along the way. They would roll on them, ride them like a horse, and they never hurt the kids. We had 2 German shepherds (King and Kong), a poodle/mutt mix named Friskie/Froo, cats, exotic birds, hamsters, Guinea pigs, baby ball pythons (3), hedgehogs, Banty Red Roosters (for the eggs), chickens, 2 horses, a cow (Vern, who gave us all PTSD, when dad said that was the steaks on the grill on the back deck, lol, dad hunted and fished), rabbits, etc.
My fav pet? A Beagle/Cocker mix. Rescue in DFW area. Bandit, because of his eyes. He had a mask. He would raise his left eyebrow and back talk when you said No Bark. Little runt! Had a milk crate wire tied to the back of my mt bike with a towel in the bottom, and some bungie's hooked through his harness. Just the backroads. Bandit, want to go for a ride? That little tiny puppy would sit down at my mt. bike and not move. He loved it.
Taught him to fetch, come, sit and release in 2 weeks when he was 3 months old. Smart as a whip.
Also had a Goffin Cockatoo, named Angel. She was snowy white, except for under her wings and her Crest (the feathers on the top of their head) So beautiful. She was a Rescue, too. Took a few chunks of flesh out before I learned to use a bath towel to handle her. It took a few months, but she learned her name, and that I loved her. She loved snuggling up to me, and my scratching under her wings. She, too, would backtalk, when I told her it was bedtime, at night. Pointing, I'd say, Angel, time for bed. Go to your cage (up a ladder from the floor to her cage, lol!),
She was learning some words, like NO, would squawk. I'd step closer, she'd squawk again, grumble (grinding her beaks together), grumbling all the way in quasi-english/bird squawking noises, just like a kid. Will never forget her.
Google them. (Funny birds/Cockatoos on YT? Ditto for ferrets. My sis had 2.) Funnier than kraut!
They are a Mini version of the full Cockatoos. Mom and sis had a few Exotic birds along the way, as well. Blue and Golds, Sunset huge parrots.
Then there was Baby Grey, an African Grey Parrot. We'd all go off to work, school, etc. He learned to mimic the phone ringing. 1 phone, 5 teenagers, 2 parents. The phone would ring. IT'S FOR ME, and we would all scramble for the phone. Dial tone. MOM!!!
That little runt had figured out that it he made the phone ringing sound, he would get us all running! Great entertainment... for him!!! Lol. Not so much when you're a teenager, right? MOM!!!!

I fell in love with Andrea's voice & music in 2010. I own several of his CD's. He's the best singer. His voice reaches into my heart soothing my soul. I cry sometimes because his music is real, pure & enlightening. He's awesome. I dream about going to a concert of his some day. Thank you, Andrea.
