Fun addl. tip: there is a function in the RS texture editor, Tools > Connect Node to Output. 100% worth setting a hotkey for that, so you don't have to futz with connecting your node to diffuse just to see a map solo'd. Save a ton of time and frustration trying to line up those tiny little Xpresso dots.
@@thepixellab2011 very true. And it shows as an emission object so you don't have to look through your lighting to see it. Huge help! Thanks for the pack!
@@thepixellab2011 I regret not switching sooner, still need to make the change. Tired of waiting for Redshift and Octane and still on an old cheesegrater so I can run an Nvidia GPU!
Follow up, why use 'add' node and not material blender? Lastly, where did you get that film container? Or did you make it? I thought it was on the freebie page but cannot find it. Cheers
@@LoganPinney Material Blender works great too, there's lots of ways to do anything. The film containers were a turbosquid purchase, not something of ours, sorry about that!
this is really helpful...I'm using maya and it doesn't seem to have the RS Ramp node in it. Am I missing something or that's just the way it is for some reason?
Got the same problem, but I had tried the "Ramp" node, I connect the "out color" of the texture node into Ramp node's General > Input > Alt Input and it works like the same as the RS_Ramp node
@@thepixellab2011 I tried without succsess. The best result was connecting one (texture + ramp) into base color and the other (texture + ramp) into layer color, however i only saw just one texture working :(

Good call, those Xpresso dots are awful!

thanks dude!
Lots of really useful workflow tips here, thank you. Definitely buying the pack. Any regrets about moving from Mac to PC, just out of interest? ?
Not a single tiny little remote regret. I don't miss Mac at all, and have WAY more options now for upgrading components at a much cheaper price...

Tried to use Material Blender to Mix two Blemishes, couldnt get that to work. but using the Math Scalar Add node worked great!
The tutorial I was waiting, how it's made.
Yeaaaa Redshift blemish mode 😝thanks man! Love the product(s)

Cool tutorial! Does anyone know the name of "Rs add" node or a similar in RS v2.6.41? Thanks in advance!
You could use a material blender node as well, another good option...

Do you have an Octane tutorial with Blemish?
Sure do: th-cam.com/video/vYHR8ak-PCA/w-d-xo.html
how to use it in Arnold render in c4d
