From what I understand, it's the present continuous form. So, maangi lekk pizza = I am eating. Lekk naa = I have eaten. The way the sentences are formed is confusing for me since Wolof uses aspect (i.e. "Is the action or state complete or incomplete?") and not tenses. So, I hope you and any others who see my reply, find better answers. I'm still learning :) Edit: Maybe use the example of "xam". Xam naa Jack (I finished getting to know Jack, I know him) Maangi xam Jack (Maybe I'm in the process of getting to know Jack?)
