      @@JKKDIFLY Why a Hawk over a aerolite 103 ?

    • @JKKDIFLY
      @JKKDIFLY  5 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      I have flow a 55 mph open cockpit MX II recoil start for 13 years. The Aerolite is a blast to fly & I have enjoyed it but it is still a 55 mph open cockpit recoil start plane. The Hawk gives me the choice to fly doors on or off so it greatly expands my flying season. It cruises @ 75-80 mph which lets me do a lot more flying with my friends and it has an electric starter!

      @@JKKDIFLY ..Gosh Darnit..I want that plane, but..I live in Texas ...Its the absolute worst state to have a UL...Nothing but rocks and hills, unless you some Greedy rancher and own acreage....Its a old airport close by..But, its controlled airspace, next to ant Army base and used for Flyte school trng also.....Soo, they prolly want you to have a license or whatever.....

    Can they accept a 1/2 VW? I hate two stroke.

    • @JKKDIFLY
      @JKKDIFLY  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      It might be possible but you'd be carrying more engine weight than a 50hp Rotax but only have 35hp unless you spent the money to get it to 45hp and that is with out any starter on the VW(hand propping only). I personally don't like the thought of climbing out of all the tail tubes with a spinning prop so close to my head!

      Some have been successful going all electric on the aerolite. That would be the best option as long as your not going long distance. About an hour flight time at best
