Jiraiya likely sees that to mean that Kakashi is, in a sense, *his* student as well and as such he takes pride in Kakashi's accomplishments....not to mention that Kakashi & Naruto are the only living links to Minato that Jiraiya still has, as both of Minato's other students (Obito & Rin) are, as far as Jiraiya is aware at least, dead....as are both Minato & Kushina.
It only took 4 tails to nearly kill Jiraiya, I wish we could have stayed st this level of power for longer because the Naruto power scale was the coolest around this part in the story.

Thing is though, they could've done that and people would like the episode so much but everyone would hate it's 'filler' and non-canon. So fan-service gets added.

tsunades expressions tell entire stories here, all in the span of about 4 seconds. she peeks at jiraya while he lifts his shirt then looks away. is she perving out over jiraya? checking out the scar naruto gave him? checking to see if any of the injuries she gave him are still visible? remembering the injuries she gave him and projecting them subconsciously as a traumatic flashback that we the viewers dont get to see? and when she looks away, is it because is she is embarrassed about the story jiraya told, or looking away from the scar naruto gave him cuz it was that bad?

Not really. Jiraya is a show off, he likes to brag a lot. Tsunade knows virtually all of his jutsu and how he fights. Which would put them well on par with one another. Tsunade's strength however completely overshadows Jiraya's physical strength.

Jiraya is far too versatile not to mention sage mode he has infinite chakra as the frogs are constantly still on his shoulders pulling chakra in. His frog kungfu makes his taijutsu better than tsunades. Im not saying tsunade is weak at all but its the same in real life. You funnel all your ability into one aspect and lack in othrrs a more well rounded opponent will drop you. Thats why hinata bodies sakura despite sakura having the same statline as tsunade. hinata has actual taijutsu and versatility. Not to ention her hits shit down chakra and destroy organs. As fot adara we saw first hand her main role was support. She could only hang because of the seal. Dont forget kabuto worked her in og nafuto woth just taijutsu/chakra scalpel and he isnt great at taijutsu.

tsunades expressions tell entire stories here, all in the span of about 4 seconds. she peeks at jiraya while he lifts his shirt then looks away. is she perving out over jiraya? checking out the scar naruto gave him? checking to see if any of the injuries she gave him are still visible? remembering the injuries she gave him and projecting them subconsciously as a traumatic flashback that we the viewers dont get to see? and when she looks away, is it because is she is embarrassed about the story jiraya told, or looking away from the scar naruto gave him cuz it was that bad?

Not really. Jiraya is a show off, he likes to brag a lot. Tsunade knows virtually all of his jutsu and how he fights. Which would put them well on par with one another. Tsunade's strength however completely overshadows Jiraya's physical strength.

Jiraya is far too versatile not to mention sage mode he has infinite chakra as the frogs are constantly still on his shoulders pulling chakra in. His frog kungfu makes his taijutsu better than tsunades. Im not saying tsunade is weak at all but its the same in real life. You funnel all your ability into one aspect and lack in othrrs a more well rounded opponent will drop you. Thats why hinata bodies sakura despite sakura having the same statline as tsunade. hinata has actual taijutsu and versatility. Not to ention her hits shit down chakra and destroy organs. As fot adara we saw first hand her main role was support. She could only hang because of the seal. Dont forget kabuto worked her in og nafuto woth just taijutsu/chakra scalpel and he isnt great at taijutsu.

yep it went pretty much downhill with the war arc. the whole edo tensei idea was trash and madara was ridiculously strong from the start and it only got worse and then aliens were introduced into the story
