I don't think unbelievers would be convinced of God's existence regardless of any answer given to them.
Think they only want to prove the Bible or Christians answers incorrect is all.

One of my favorite stories is how Abraham negotiated with God to spare Sodom and Ghemora. God knew already that there wasn't any righteous person to be found but He indulged Abraham because his heart was in the right place. It showed God's love and patience and also the pleasure God had with Abraham.

I’ve always pondered this. God even asked Lot to find someone in Sodom and Ghemora who is without sin, then he will spare the cities. But, this is kind of a trick request. As we are all born into sin. What I ponder is, weren’t there any children in these cities? I’m sure there were. Weren’t the lives of these children worth saving? Not just Lots family? I’d appreciate a reasonable reply to this.

@@BenjoReacts Very good question. The thing is...what was predominant in those times was the corruption of the true blood line of Adam who God created. Satan had a plan to corrupt man with his own identity to permanently keep us in sin. That's why there were nephilims (giants) back then. Many abominations were so normal at that time, like sleeping with animals, same sex and so on... this corruption was brought about through sex between the fallen angels and women/men. God was grieved at this. Sad to say there was no way back. The mark of the beast will be just like that. A corruption to man. As for the children, they were most likely of the same corrupted blood line which needed to end. But I believe they might not perish for all eternity, unlike the adults who knew what they were doing. I'd like to also remind you that this was one of the key reasons for the flood in Noah's time. But unfortunately it continued afterwards.

No, the only reason (on two separate occasions, I might add) that God headed Moses’ petition to spare the Israelites was because Moses appealed to his ego: It was only lest the nations should hold Yahweh in lower esteem that he didn’t kill them. His motive was entirely self-interested. This is backed up by Deuteronomy 32:26-27. God only spared them so that others wouldn’t take the credit.

@John Washington When Christians refer to part of the bible, they cite the Chapter and Verse. Maybe you've heard of John 3:16. John is the book, 3 would be the chapter, 16 the verse. So being well-versed, in regard to the Bible, has an almost literal meaning that a person has an intimate familiarity with the bible down to the verse level of detail. "Chaptered" while not an actual term anyone uses would imply a more broad familiarity with the bible with less detailed understanding or nuance.

So as believers, the Holy Spirit was sent to us as a helper and comforter to lead and guide us on our walk with the Lord Jesus on this world. Without the help and leading of the Holy Spirit, we won't be able to be be transform and become like Jesus and impact the world which is our main purpose on earth. Now, the Holy spirit is there to lead us bt it doesn't force itself on us just like God has given us humans the free will to accept and serve him or to live however we want in this world. This means that we have the choice to accept the nudging and leading of the Holy Spirit (and yes as a believer you can tell when the Holy Spirit is trying to lead you to do something). • @109717muriel
      @109717muriel 4 ปีที่แล้ว +7

@@andrew_stamps God can't cut out the Holy Spirit because He is also the Holy Spirit. God is triune, tri-dimensional (3 in 1), God, the Father, God the Son, God the Holy Spirit. They are all spirit beings that have their own individualities and roles bt are also interdependent and interconnected at the same time. Hard to make sense of if you're are not a believer, not just Christian cuz there is a difference between the two. Since, we humans are spirit beings also (see my above comment), God gives us the Holy Spirit to Lead, guide, help, and empower us in our walks with Him on earth. Now God does communicates himself directly to us, through the Holy Spirit, and via various other ways with us his creations since He is the ultimate creator after all. You can't come to know nor understand God the Father unless you first acknowledge that Jesus Christ is His son that he came and died for your (our) sins in order to reconcile us back to the Father. And the key to having this acces is faith (Belief) in jesus and accepting (inviting) Him into your life as your savior. I hope this make sense. Most importantly, please remember that God loves us all and would love nothing bt for us to come to him. Bt He doesn't himself force on anyone of one of us. We all have been given free will to choose to believe Jesus or not. Just like you have the choice to do good or bad in life. So the choice is yours. I hope this helps.

    • @heavnxbound
      @heavnxbound 4 ปีที่แล้ว +7

Googlesucks Fkyougoogle, prayer is supposed to be a communication between you and God, not a moment where we’re silent. God speaks to us through the Bible, we speak to Him through prayer. God also uses prayer as a way to align us with His will, He already knows what He wants and what you want, and oftentimes our will doesn’t align with His will. As the Lord’s prayer goes: “your will be done”, not ours. He also wants us to talk to Him because it helps us, it calms anxieties and lulls depression and stress, just ranting to God about nothing and everything, pouring out our hearts, it helps. The Bible specifically says in 1 Peter 5:7 “cast all your cares upon Him, for He cares for you.” And Psalms 55:22 says “cast your cares on the Lord and He will sustain you, He will never let the righteous be shaken.” In the Bible we see a clear picture of God’s love and care for us, and through prayer He lets us have a safe place to go and let our guard down, a place where we’re heard because He wants to listen to us, He doesn’t care if we mess up our words, we’re imperfect and He only wants us to be real with Him; not because of Him, because He already knows everything you need, but because of us - because He knows the importance of relaxing and having someone there to listen, and He gives us that thanks to His amazing grace.

Moses proves his faith and trust in God when he asks the Lord to punish him before he punishes the Israelites, time and time again, reassuring God not to give up on them, although, in my eyes, it is God seeing if Moses hasn't given up on them.

God knows the best but He listens to pleadings so that we might not think He's too hard. But there's a limit to how much He can say yes to. Just like parents who knows candies are bad for children, sometimes when the child pleads so hard, it softens the heart of the parents and gives what the child wants. But there's a limit of course.
When God draws the line, He makes it known and there's a reason why.
"Do not pray for this people or offer any plea or petition for them, because I will not listen when they call to me in the time of their distress." Jeremiah 11:14

I really like this answer since whenever I think about God "hardening Pharaoh's heart," it made me wonder how much agency Pharaoh had. I have since used a model that we are all responsible to choose whether we want to follow God or not, but from the observer's perspective, God acts through them regardless. So if I did end up not choosing to follow God and hardened my own heart, God would still use my stubbornness, mistakes, and sin in a way that's still part of his plan (while also smiting me for my decisions). From the outside perspective, it can be seen as God still working through me (like Pharaoh in Exodus or the neo-Babylonians in Habbakuk) to the outside observer.

@Madara Uchiha That's not the case. When you read the Bible, you will see that the Narrator is never "coy". God may not share everything with the character in the book, say Adam or Abram, but the Narrator of the book will never hide the truth. Moreover, God has a right to keep secrets. The Bible is both God's and Man's perspective precisely because God wants us to have the veil lifted from our eyes when we read it. Just because God didn't physically write the Bible we hold in our hands this very day does not mean it is not his own word.
2 Timothy 3:16-17 16 "All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, 17so that the servant of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work."
Oh and btw Madara Uchiha, to respond to your below post. Nowhere in Exodus does it say that the pyramids were built on the backs of the Jews. They built storehouses and such, nothing more. Even then, Ramses wasn't likely the Pharaoh of the Exodus. Some argue it was Thutmose the III, but there are a few other candidates as well. There is archaeological evidence of Egyptians taking slaves known as the "Apiru" or "Habiru" as well as them bemoaning how plentiful the Habiru were.

The same goes for the story of Abraham and ISaac. People always ask why would God ask Abraham to sacrifice his child if God already knew how faithful Abraham was?
The answer is, the exercise of sacrifice was not for Abraham to prove he had faith. God already knew he had faith and trust in him. It was a lesson in faith for us, future generations. As told, they wrote it down. That lesson was to be passed on to us, in order for us to understand the level of faith and trust that God wants us to have.

I actually came up with a really good analogy, it goes like this and I don't think people can really counter this either because their life proves it to be true. Here it is. Ask anyone who has kids or would have kids. Say "Before you had kids or are going to have kids one day are you fully aware that your kids are going to do or may do bad things even before you had them or will have them???" EXACTLY!!! You were fully aware that when you have kids or a kid they may or will do bad things, YET you had them??? WHY is that??? Why do you say God cannot do this YET you do it in your own life??? You literally are proving our point, it is no different that God giving life to beings that can do wrong and you purposely having kids FULLY AWARE they will do bad things. If you know your child will do bad things why did you still have them????
Best analogy ever. Anyone with children has no RIGHT to even question why God would create a being that can do wrong when they have kids and did the same thing God did, being a hypocrite because they were also fully aware.
But its because you want and expect GOOD you have kids, nobody has kids and cannot wait until they disobey them. You have them hoping they will love you JUST like God expects us to love him.
Actually now that I think that having kids is pretty self reflection of God, God was fully aware the beings he created COULD do bad things just like any parent was FULLY aware that having a kid that kid might and COULD do bad things.
The point is, you want LOVE, most parents probably want kids becasue they want love out of that kid and want to love them back and ect.
So how can you question Gods motive when you as PARENTS done the same exact thing proving you are made in Gods imagine and think alike.

    • @guerrillaRMV
      @guerrillaRMV 7 ปีที่แล้ว +4

Well, that one is pretty easy!
I dont have Kids, but when i do, i wont:
      a) Have a large, overproportionally growing number of Kids, live in a world of predefined distance to me, where it is their Moral duty to reach out to me, because i require a phenomenal amount of direct, conscious worship. (in the analogy: i will never let them fully grow up to "move out", instead i decide to take a stance in the Fashion of a "helicopter parent")
      b) have them suffer because of their older "siblings" (Adam and Eve). I will allow them to go against each other for different reasons, amongst them: religious wars, uncontrolled reproductive Impetus, scarcity of ressources etc.
      c) Dispense my Moral helps against the aforementioned b) very disproportional at an altering rate through the ages and with a huge (!) differece depending on the local Christian confession.
-until this Point this would be manageable through apokatastasis ton panton (salvation of all), ending this seemingly endless, but in the end immensely small period of diverse suffering, but:
      d) have most of them (read Matthew) suffer for their choices eternally because of their inherited, unaltered dumbness.
The first Generation of "Kids" would be "interesting" (enjoy the word with precaution) Thing to watch, the "offspring" after hundreds of them should be handled with extreme care and under the usage of (possible) experience. BUT after the 1000th of them still misbehaving (around 7,000,000 individuals) i would blame myself, not them.
I hope, that a truly allloving God will give his merciful Actions no border to see and no end to fear. So we all may one day be free of our internal damage and granted with divine presence.

    • @rainbowgang5594

Because when we have kids, we do not have full entire control over what they do, although we can influence them. And yes, they likely will get into some amount of trouble or do some amount of bad but we can't fully control everything they do, and we don't necessarily know everything they do/did/are doing. God knows everything everyone did/does/will do ever, and has infinite power to prevent them from doing it.

God isn't so small that he can't account for our choices "free will" he can rule as he chooses and he chose to make us autonomous free moral agents. Just because he knows the end from the beginning and our actions before we make them doesn't mean he causes said actions to come to pass. Actually it's more amazing that God is sovereign in spite of the choices we make.
He's willing that we should all come to repentance and that no one should die but because we're selfish and hard hearted, many of us will have to die because we refuse to change our ways. And we have to do it his way not ours and that's through Jesus.

@@a-aron6724 i am no calvinist ...but it is a biblical fact that man has no free will..that does not mean that man has no will at all..we make choices everyday and we account for them ..but the choices we make are not free of external influences...here is the scripture that proves my point...
James4:13 "How foolish it is to say, Today or tomorrow we will go into this town, and be there for a year and do business there and get wealth:
When you are not certain what will take place tomorrow. What is your life? It is a mist, which is seen for a little time and then is gone
But the right thing to say would be, If it is the Lord's pleasure and if we are still living, we will do this and that."
"If it is the Lord's pleasure " it will happen ..so where is you FREEWILL here?? If you have FREEWILL you aught to know a thought before it arrives in your mind for you to think it..that means we must be able to control all the circumstances that are responsible for making us to think in certain ways...only God controls everything. ..and everything is according to his own pleasure..hence only God has FREEWILL..

  • @royguidry1311

God could not know the outcome of our decisions prior to happening. If there is a predetermined outcome then there is no true free will. There can be no discussion on this point as this cannot be both true. As a father you can raise a child with certain values and then the child makes lifelong decisions afterwards, sometimes good and sometimes bad or wrong. Then as a father we deal with the aftermath and outcome. One scripture comes to mind that God will not put you through a trial or temptation that you cannot overcome. If that was true then you would never fail the trial because the very fact that you failed means he knew you couldn’t make it.

The two cannot be more disparate, as exemplified by Jesus who not only demonstrated and preached the opposite, but he directly opposed the old supposed laws, saying "you heard this, but I say this". Amos 5:26, John 8:44, Acts 7:43, Rev 2:9, Rev 3:9. I can't cite titles of articles here because they'll be censored, but " they" admit they worship Saturn = Rephan and always have. "They" had 1 of 70 or 80 (depending on the source) sub-gods (angels? demons? To be fair their ripped off Babylonians and others), and then conflated their personal tribal "god" with the one Highest, then pretended they were the same all along. We see this in old versions of their texts, and the plural language is still in most modern versions that haven't swept all the dust under the rug yet.

Airbolt So you’re changing the subject to the problem of evil. That’s simple, First of all, it is possible that God has reasons for allowing evil to exist that we simply cannot understand. In this, the Christian can have confidence in God knowing that His ways are above our ways (Isaiah 55:8-9). As the Bible says, the just shall live by faith (Hab. 2:4).
Second, God may be letting evil run its course in order to prove that evil is malignant and that suffering, which is the unfortunate product of evil, is further proof that anything contrary to God’s will is bad, harmful, painful, and leads to death (Gen. 2:17; Rom. 6:23).

If i eat it you knew i would eat it. If i didn't you also knew i wouldn't.
Unless you starved me before hand then you would know for certain i would eat it. In this case it is questionable whether it is free will hence why entrapments are illegal.

To me, anger in any way, will never really cause anything good to happen, even, or mayby especially when it supposedly is the anger of God. The more loving and gentle I am towards my children, no matter what they do, the more likely will be a good outcome. If any anger comes into play, it will always cause damage to happen. Therefore, to me, God is the source of unconditional love, meaning that her certainly may not like sin, but always show love and gentleness towards everyone, especially the sinners.. It is this unconditional love that draws people to being good, not fear.. Sure, people may change their outer behaviour when they fear, but the heart will only change by unconditional love.. In that sense, a God that works with anger and fear, is not the God I believe in..

Then the God you believe in is not the true God of the bible. If you are truly saved, you become God's son or daughter. You will still commit sin, and God, as a true Father will correct and chasten you, whether sickness, troubles in life, even death if you do it over and over, but you will not lose your salvation. And the Lord will help you to overcome the many sins that grieves you.
Fear of the Lord is not the same as fearing a serial killer or a horror-movie monster. It's fear out of reverence and respect for the God of the universe who created us, who everyday allows us to draw breath, to have food to eat, water to drink, a warm house during winter, etc. And it's that fear out of respect that will make us study his word and understand him, and make us wise toward salvation:
      Proverbs 9:10
The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom: and the knowledge of the holy is understanding.
When you get saved, the chastening is to teach you as a son, to not do those sins because they affect you in a negative way (sins are of the flesh: drinking alcohol damages your internal organs, smoking destroys your lungs, drugs destroys your body and mind, lusting leads to fornication and std's). It's for your own good. Any child without discipline from the parents, will grow up to be wicked, in so many different ways and end up being miserable and lost.
      Job 5:17
Behold, happy is the man whom God correcteth: therefore despise not thou the chastening of the Almighty:
Now the lost people, meaning those who rejected the gift of salvation of Jesus Christ our God, are appointed to God's wrath, not just anger. It's not the Lord's fault, we all have a choice to get saved, but some don't want to get saved because it means giving up sins which has become a normal part of most people's daily lives. They don't want to be responsible or held accountable for their actions. Because it will take true effort to change.
      2 Peter 3:9
The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.
      Romans 10:13
For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.
And the lost people cannot blame God if they get damned because the Lord gives so many chances and warnings if only they would read the bible (the King James Version is the only true version in the english language). But most people would rather watch TV or hollywood movies full of violence and sex for hours, go to the bar, play video games or listen to worldy music, wasting time needlessly.
That's the lie that is perpetuated, that God loves unconditionally. Because if you believe this, then why would you want to repent of your ways, or put some effort into changing your life, for it will cost you your friends, loved ones, even family to follow the Lord. If God loves unconditionally, then there's no need to sacrifice all those things to be saved. This philosophy will damn many people into hell.
It's not easy, but if you favor your soul living in eternity more than your short life here on earth in your fleshly body that could die at any time, and rot, then you would seriously consider getting saved for your soul's sake.
      2 Corinthians 6:2
(For he saith, I have heard thee in a time accepted, and in the day of salvation have I succoured thee: behold, now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation.)

@@user_fnnrqGpb2Ac0_3HX40-IA You are right, we do not believe in the same God, though at some point in my life, we obviously did. I see how anger, fear, guilt, shame and the threath of eternal punishment do posess the power to change the outer behaviour of people, but it completely lacks the power of truely changing the hearts. To me that way of "changing people" rather seems like a chrakteristic of mankind, or of powers being in need of manipulative tools to compensate the lack of being a true living example of real unconditional love, gentlenesse, kindness, knowledge, wisdom and gentle pursuation..
As a Father, I never want my children to do good out of fearing what may happen if they dont do good, but I want them to do good becaue they desire it, because they tastes goodness from my example, and because they understand what it truely means to be good..or in other words, I dont want them to pretend something for the false reasons, for example to love their parents out of fear of getting beaten if they dont.
I went through a lot of pain and suffering, and this is the God I found.. You may call it a false God, but to me its the most authentic and real one... And to make one thing clear, to love unconditionally does not mean that we dont experience consequences, its obvious there are eternal laws that can not be ignored that we are all subject to. So, to experience pain and suffering is no contradiction to God posessing unconditional love for us, it simply means our actions and intentions judge us, and cause the consequences, not God our Father.
      All the best to you
