Walking in MADRID / Spain 🇪🇸- Winter tour around Puerta del Sol - 4K 60fps (UHD)

- We are in Madrid, the capital of Spain on a winter afternoon.
Our tour starts at the Plaza de Jacinto Benavente in the centre. We quickly walk towards the Puerta del Sol which we will visit several times today. Central Madrid is busy with people and shops - also on our way to the Gran Vía.
On the Gran Viá we head east to the Plaza de Jacinto Benavente - the symbolic Gothic palace & fountain and now Madrid's City Hall.
The tour continues walking back on the Gran Vía to Puerta del Sol and into direction of Plaza Mayor. We complete our round walking back to Puerta del Sol on the Calle del Arenal, another shopping street.

11:15 WOW! AMAZING! I love this *Instituto Cervantes* building! Took me an hour to find it on Google map. (because I didn't know what it was called and had hard time reading side of it - Could not make out the "C" and I kept spelling it with a "G" 11:42 .)
12:15 *CentroCentro* Amazing this was originally built to be a post office. Info: *The Palace* , designed by acclaimed architects Antonio Palacios and Joaquín Otamendi, was opened in 1919 and originally served as the *Head Post Office* . Declared a Cultural Heritage Monument in 1993, it has a Functionalist design and is one of the oldest examples of Modernist architecture in Spain. 14:20 So Majestic
17:55 and many other locations, under construction. In Google Map, these places look fine. However I am thinking maybe Madrid using extra BUDGET FUNDS to give this city more of a facelift, from what I can see on previous work. It's such an inspiring city.

Madrid city Hall is XIX eclectical building, the fountain was built in XVIII century, both in Cibeles square.
This was a good uncut tour. I walked and vlogged there as well but on the other side of Madrid. Keep up the great work POPtravel!

Hermosa caminata. Estaba en esos días en Madrid, de regreso de Florencia en plan de trabajo. Ahí en la Glorieta de Cibeles se coloca un mercadillo de Navidad , pensé que caminarían por ahí. Quien diría que poco después se detendría todo? Me encanta Madrid en invierno.

Thank you! I may get Portugal and Spain again during the spring or summer months. Viana Do Castelo looks nice after finishing the Camino de Santiago north from there. 🙂
So far I have no definite plans for Spain and Portugal as I'm working for some time first. More videos will be coming of various places throughout the year. I'll see what works out next year before the full tourist season starts. Thanks for watching!

Why didn't you go to Royal Palace at the end of your walk?
I did another longer walk before this one here where I also went to the Royal Palace. I didn't go in due to a waiting line yet the video will be posted here in a few weeks. Usually I try to mix places to make the channel more interesting. I plan on having some membership site where all videos can be watched as they are being made. Thanks for watching!
