This vid is so underrated. Decorative vent covers are ridiculously EXPENSIVE. Thank you so much!

IKR? I have a very large register opening and it was over $400 - absolute NONSENSE!

I love when people make DIY videos that don't require a full workshop with every tool you can find in Home Depot. Thank you for this.

Yeah, that's kinda my thing: make it approachable for normal people. THANKS FOR WATCHING!

Looks great! Vents are one of the many overlooked DIY projects that can completely transform the look of your home. If you don't want to make your own, there are many decorative and affordable options to choose from! :)

We are remodeling my dads house and he has unusual shaped vents. We have to custom order and they are very expensive. This video was so needed. Thank you so much. Maybe I will post a video after I am done.

I would love that! I also have a Facebook page and group page ("ChickFix DIY Group") which would be a great place to post a video about this project!

Don’t forget to paint the inside cavity black.

You may want to measure the area of free space available for the air to go through your old vent as compared to the beautiful one you created. It is hard to tell from the video, but you may be choking your FAU significantly especially if you did that to all three. The more open the vents, the more efficient your system runs.

Thank you for the tip! I was actually concerned about that, and shows a pattern that had the largest openings. So far so good

Did you seriously brush paint onto the aluminum screen itself??? For those who would prefer to keep the aluminum look, Rustoleum makes an aerosol enamel in both gloss and matte, I believe it's called 'Stop Rust Matte clear enamel' and I've had a great deal of success applying to different metals to prevent corrosion and wear. Interesting idea using staples to hold the screen on, I'll have to just do that when I get around to my intake covers pretty soon here.
