Furness Abbey

Hi everyone,
in today's video we are seeing Furness Abbey, the ruins. Furness Abbey was once the largest and wealthiest monastery in north-west England, and a favourite of artist JMW Turner and poet William Wordsworth.

Hi Katie, looked so peaceful there the day you filmed. We must visit before the summer ends! I find that Abbey ruins have a special atmosphere of their own!

Hi Neville, this was filmed a few months ago after one of my hospital appointments so it was nice and quiet. It’s definitely peaceful isn’t it 🥰 they’re having a medieval festival in August which will be good I think, especially in the setting of the ruins. Aww definitely come when it’s sun shining 😉🌞 we’re doing alright thank you and hope you all are too. 🤩🏰
