I find that I dislike that these are labeled as “easy” abstract paintings. Sure what he’s doing isn’t necessarily difficult, but there is still a lot that goes into making a piece like this particularly eye appealing. Such as color/pallet choice, the texture he scrapes into the paint, or hand technique/pressure that are all not necessarily intuitive. It comes from having a certain artistic eye and practicing. I feel like “easy” doesn’t do it justice. Simplistic or minimalistic, maybe, but easy implies that anyone can pick this up and do it themselves and it’ll turn out just as beautiful and detailed. Plus, in my opinion, it undermines the craftsmanship in the art.

Travis Bennett well you make a valid point but when you think about it the technique he is using is very simple and yes it may be more challenging it is very possible that someone who has minimal art talent (like me) can do this and get very lovely results, I do understand your point of view though.

This is an example of how heaven looks like. Using warm and cool colors with a wet reflection of white, black and blended. I guess you should paint the borders as well for a perfect tableau.

Areebah Zaidi if you're looking to start I'd suggest some student grade paints. It should be achievable with either acrylic paints or oil - i.e. probably not the kind he is using , hehe. Incase you try it and it isnt really your thing/you dislike it.
You can use any heavy body paint and a butter knife. If you don't have the kind of butter knife that looks like this palate try using a pie server or bend a spreading knife so the handle is lifted at an upward angle.
Yes, I agree. Some new lighter music will make this fun. The same repating song is getting on my nerves and I turn off the sound while I watch his videos.

If you can’t find an appropriate scraper I found a plastic spoon works really well
