    Pretty much any other TH-camr would've made this into 3-4 separate videos. I mean that as a compliment. You've condensed the whole process and given the people quality, not quantity. Absolute legend mate. Gym looks sick.

    • @ocean5769
      @ocean5769 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I believe that was the old TH-cam. Now you get the same revenue in 1 long video compared to multiple smaller videos due to mid roll ads?

    • @JoeDelaneyy
      @JoeDelaneyy  4 ปีที่แล้ว +14

      @@ocean5769 I have no idea tbh.

    • @seanissomething
      @seanissomething 4 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      Ocean You get the same ad revenue (in theory), but you get less engagement. The algorithm favours frequency above all else. Even if all else was equal, TH-cam’s algorithm would favour you uploading 3x per week as opposed to 1x per week. But not all else is equal; you also get more views. If someone uploads 1 30min video per week and it gets 100k views, and 10k likes, if that person instead made 3x 10min videos per week, they would likely get 100k views and 10k likes per video just the same, so on net balance, plus TH-cam’s favouring frequency about all else, it would be much more beneficial (on paper) to split this into 3 videos.

    Assembly by myself was not too hard. I took my time and followed the diagrams. I particularly like the pictures and names of the exercises organized by muscle groups on the front of the th-cam.com/users/postUgkxKJHyBZ9I1py9vVi-XLpEBg0y-qmdhn3q . Considering the number of exercises it has a relatively small footprint. I needed a machine that was not too tall because I only have 79" headroom in my cabin and this was just over 78". It is easy to use, seems to be well made, and I am pleased with my purchase. I am doing upper body muscles on Monday and Thursday. Lower body exercises are being done on Tuesday and Friday. Not using it on Wednesday, Saturday, and Sunday. I am a reasonably fit 66 year old man and this is a great workout.

    you should have 'primed' the floor before you paint. The 'primers' job is to 'seal' the dust and stop the the floor from absorbing the water in the paint too quick soo that your paint goes much further.

I know you're worried about hideous wires being on show, but they are literally only a few mm thick and come in black colour which easily be hidden by attaching it on the rafters (the wood that makes up your roof). I’ve done the exact same thing as this and also underestimated the amount of floor paint. Using a roller took more paint than a brush, so I resorted to that and scraped by. It was more time consuming but that’s what wives are for.
    I also settled for 2 coats. With the mats on top, it is ok so far.
    I used masonry paint for the bricks.
    Yours looks a lot better than mine, as I don’t have much patience and slopped it on. Good work

Your attention to detail has gotten you your own gym. Holee freeeking Sheeeet. I have been watching Joey D's videos for about a year and half and just the transformation in the man himself in the last 4 years is absolutely insane. Gone from videos about grafting girls to - lets do some DIY in this house I bought. For someone that has not had much prior experience in DIY'ing this is absolutely insane. What was amazing was the amount of care he took at every single point to get things right and make them look good. Not Good enough - but GOOD. You have seriously achieved more during this COVID period than many of us have in the last 10 or 15 years. Keep pumping out these great videos and keep inspiring!

    looks sweet bro. one thing i'd mention from experience is.... you should Chemset the bolts that hold the Boxing bag on the wall. because the force of impact that the bag takes from varying angles, causes the support arm to slightly wiggle/vibrate from side to side as you're hitting it... over time it will make the bolts literally walk their way out of the wall. its pretty easy to do and it will def save you a headache later.

    This is a dream of mine and you literally hit like every idea from the speakers to the whole ambiance of the facility. You did a great job! I did want to say, you could of used the threads of the UE BOOMS and hooked them up and somewhere in the corners of the gym and then got a usb cable to plug in and hide the cables with cable covers so then you will have your never ending music speaker system. You can use like a cheap tablet or an old ipod with bluetooth and internet access to have a playlist going everytime you come in the gym. ❤️

    lovely job and good use of space. i know hindsight is a wonderful thing, but it really shows how you should prep everything first and work from the walls down before starting on the floor :D

    Very smart joe. I’ve got one in my conservatory but yours is better and also I built my rack but couldn’t do my cable machine so again you win. Nothing better than being able to workout at home though, enjoy

    Preparing the concrete is a total nightmare! I destroyed (temporarily) two hoovers after brushing like you and having an endless formation of dust 😁 cracking job, cracking gym man 👍🙂

    Considered putting fixed camera mounts at various spots round the gym? Would obviously help for filming but would also allow for sick progression transitions due to being filmed at the exact same angles

    GREAT JOB !!! Nice Design.... Maybe you could think of an electric Door for the Garage-Gym ?
    And there are no Mirrors. And with Mirrors you will think about lights...
