- Here is a video from the first English with Sound and Light series. Though the production quality is a little weak, this is useful for teaching the past tense tense. I am in the process of revising and updating this video.

Past is a finihed time.
Present perfect is something that has just happened. Think of it as another way to tell news

present perfect is something that you started in the past and you continue doing.
For example: I started giving english classes in 2014, I am still giving classes. so... I have given classes for 4 years.
simple past is something that just finished.
For example:
In 2008, yesterday, last month, in the morning (If in this moment is evening) an action that finished and it doesn't continue!

I think this video caused confused for me .it is like the previous video on present perfect .there is no different use between tow tenses
