We hope you enjoyed this architectural marvel by Wellard Architects flawlessly combines comfort and elegance. The external staircase is a genius touch, allowing for some "escape" while keeping sand where it belongs. For more of the latest and greatest in architecture, interior design and house tours, make sure to order Issue No. 12 of our tri-annual hardcopy print publication - thelocalproject.com.au/publication/issue-12/

I get unreasonably excited when I see The Local Project pop up in my feed. The video editing and videography alone are worth the watch.. and then those homes. Nothing like it.

this is the first Architect on this chanel that didn't sound like he was on his last breath or hated life.

A well considered and beautifully executed composition from one end of the property to the other. Architecturally timeless. Color palette, materials and textures create a friendly warmth and timeless sophistication. The light play through the screens is almost textural. I like the offset of the main structure from the beach. The main garden is a beautiful space and the landscaping at the perifery provides privacy from both sides and gives a sense of a hidden surprise just beyond the trees when viewed from the interior. BRAVO!

Love the 'Shadow play' effect of this smart sustainable design of this home. The open-floor & see through walls really makes a cool effect!
    Thanks Local Project 🥰

Beautiful home. I would love a life of providing people with such intimate designs and escapes from the modern struggle. A personalized fit for harmonious interactions. I wonder... not everyone can have a custom beach front property... but not everyone wants one or wants to work for one either.

#Bravo - Very well done beach house - great architecture/usefulness - from the double living space which can accommodate family and the empty nester parents; to the selection of materials, lap pool, kitchen, etc. One suggestion is that you somehow incorporate solar hot water heating and/or solar panels on the roof - can be easily hidden w/ parapet wall, etc. Bravo Bravo

Very beautiful concept with strong yet simple forms. I am not that sure thought about the steel frame structure so close to 5:45 the sea. Did the Architect consider the high maintenance costs due to the high corrosion level of steel in such places?

I think he would definitely have considered it plus there are so many codes and rules for building next to the ocean. I'm sure they used marine grade stainless steel screws...in the "little things" that are often overlooked by the home owner. Been there done that. 😊

Congrats. It’s more than I could afford.
Is anyone able to tell me how to afford a house like that?
      W/o inheriting/winning some money or being a criminal…
I tried hard work over 2 decades as an engineer. Didn’t pay off, unfortunately.

Great design - the only thing I would change is the angle of the slats along the side walls of the property to provide more privacy from the adjacent homes...otherwise would feel like I was living in a fish bowl.

Considering how huge Australia is i am always surprised how close together they built their houses.
They really like their togetherness 😅😅

A nice house like most of your projects. Australia has such great forward thinking design especially compared to boring old stuck in the past USA. I just wish you could lose the droning boring architects, at least teach them how to dress to match their magic architecture

I see these clips and I so want to watch them but the narration is so pompous and what they've done is so out of reach for 99% of humans. The clip style to how they show you just glimpses of the home is frustrating - JUST LET ME SEE THE DAMN HOUSE FOR MORE THAN 5 SECONDS AT A TIME!!
I always turn it off, cannot suffer through an entire video it's just so gross.

I’m a TH-cam Premium subscriber specifically so I don’t need to watch ads & still support creators on here. TH-cam has now added a pop up for Apple TV that shows your “shop” button. As a design focused channel I assumed you’d know better. Since it’s easier to unsubscribe rather than expect you to change on my behalf, I’m unsubscribing. Cheers.
