@@TheDaydreamSound Not just interesting. You know, I´d love to have an SP1200, but I´m just too stingy to spend more than 4000€ on that. The SP2400 seems to sound VERY close to the sp12(00), but costs less than 1000€... so it might be the best hardware alternative to me. On the software side I recommend the decimort vst by D16.
What's up man! Thanks for reaching out! Much appreciated!!! I don't do tutorials but here's my online overview of the SP1200 th-cam.com/video/PCyvilAt2EU/w-d-xo.html
Hi-Res Mode doesn’t have 64 ppq, as you say in the video. It has 24 ppq. The 64 mentioned in the manual is in reference to there being 24 1/64th Triplets per quarter note. If you go into step mode in Hi-Res and move through the steps between each beat you’ll find there are only 24. And you’ll always find any hits you’ve recorded. At double tempo there are 48 ppq in Hi-Res. So at double tempo the smallest musical value is a 1/128th note triplet in Hi-Res, at normal tempo the smallest musical value in hi-res is 1/64th triplet note. Which is 1/24th of a beat.
What's up Stuart! Thanks for reaching out! That is what I was meaning to say. I do that a lot in my videos. Don't mind me. Their off the cuff studio musings. The main take away of the video is the concept of relaxing the restraint of the SP1200.
I have a zoom sampletrk. It’s also clocked at 24ppqn. The swing becomes bouncy at double bpm also. I always wondered if the swing is basically the same as 1200
The Daydream Sound the sampletrak also becomes gritty like the 1200 when pitched down. It’s not the same but similar at 16khz. You have 32-16-8khz. The best way to describe the zoom sampletrak is a cross between the sp1200, and the sp303.
I'm never going to have experience on this machine, but maybe one of the two clones, eventually! Will be interesting to see if theirs behave in the same way.
What's up Ward de jager!! Thanks for reaching out! Both terms are correct and interchangeable (as well as ticks per quarter note). I've seen reputable manufactures of pro level sequencers use both terms.
Hi I keep coming back to your video for a few little brush ups as I’m fairly new to the SP world! Thanks! Just a random question: when I’m sequencing a ‘segment’ and say I don’t like the hi-hat pattern I laid down, how can I just delete the hi hat pattern only and reprogram it? Or do I have to delete the whole segment and reprogram it? Thanks !
What's up Ty!! Thanks for reaching out!! Lowering the tempo would give the SP1200 a more ridged feel. This happens with all sequencers but it's just more noticeable with the SP1200.
What's up man!!! Thanks for watching!!!!!! It's definitely a different experience for sure. It's not as bad as it sounds though. Even though it's 24ppq it ends up working out to 48ppq because of the way the SP1200 handles the pulses.
I can´t waitto put my hands on the SP2400^^
It's an interesting thing to witness for sure!

You can make such intricate beats in step mode in highres mode. It’s under used, you can do anything.
I have the rossum coming. The sp1200 revolution has begun
What's up Smokey!!! Congrats!!!
The aesthetic quality of your presentation is top notch.
Very much appreciated!!! Thanks a million!!!!!
You’re a very cool cat thanks for sharing your knowledge. I don’t even have any of these machines I just like watching your videos. Peace
What's up man!!! That's amazing!!! Thanks for watching!!! Much appreciated!!!
Nice! Please make a DVD tutorial for the SP1200. Thanks

I really like the sound of the Sampletrack for sure!! Still a little known gem!!!!
Not to mention how swing changes at double time ;)
What's up Hans!!! Yep! It definitely gets more of a better feel at double time.
Following you for many years. You deserve more views!
Much appreciated man!!! We'll get there. There's no rush.
love the lofi mid crunch on that bad boy!
What's up Danila!!! Thanks for watching!!! It's definitely got a lot of snap to it!

I know about the SP2400. What's the other clone?
subtracktion a guy by the name of Low Hiss has a clone in the works. Look him up on Instagram
@@mikegraham92 Thank you!

this machine is so different..... I swear by it even though I never owned one... the bounce it puts out is crazy......
Where did you get those fat slider caps?
01:20 It's pulses per quarter note , not parts :)

Dope
Much appreciated man!!!!!
So you double up your bars and double your tempo and set the quanitizer to 1/64t?
U seen the eSPi?
Yep!!!
Great presentation! How come the already recorded pattern stays the same when you double the tempo?
Same question here ;-)
Just curious if I lower the BPM on my MPC live to half the tempo would it change the groove
What's up Ty!! Thanks for reaching out!! Lowering the tempo would give the SP1200 a more ridged feel. This happens with all sequencers but it's just more noticeable with the SP1200.
Yes it will, he has a video about this, lower the BPM and speed up the Metronome
Sweet!
Much appreciated!!! Thanks for watching!!!!
24 ppq? Wow, even cubase on atari runs at 384 ppq!

Interesting!
Yep!
tap tempo = you mean note repeat
You got it Synth Master!!!!!
Or just turn it off ( quantize )
What's up Jacques! Thanks for reaching out! That's the problem. You can't.
@@TheDaydreamSound Yep.....that's right.....I had it for 10 years but forgot about that....I miss that machine
