It wasn’t just the monologue. It started there, he was cursing during skits too. I watched it live cause I love Martin but he had me cringing, he was doing the most. I knew it wasn’t gonna go over well. The cut his scenes back and it seemed to me that maybe Lorne Michaels or some one pulled him to the side and I guess check him. It became apparent to me as the show went on he was just becomig more belligerent with the cursing, like he was being defiant like f*k SNL. He was the Mannat the time and maybe thought he was bigger than SNL. After that is when everything went downhill for him and he was humbled. His first movie after being humbled is Black Knight in which he was taught a great lesson.

In summary, "Martin feels, or felt at the time, that the failure of many young women to bathe thoroughly is a serious problem that demands our attention." This is corporate putting this statement out there.
Wow, I remember that monologue from "You So Crazy", I had no idea he did that on SNL. That was way too hot for TV, he probably did that on purpose to see if he could get away with it. Fucked up him gettin' banned, but that wasn't for tv.
Being edgy was a big part of Martin's brand back then so NBC should've known he was gonna do what he was known to do.
He was alongside Tim Robbins in 'Nothing To Lose' back in 97
Martin Lawrence = Cariba Heine
Will Smith = Lucy Fry
My dude really read his monologue 🤦🏾♂️🤦🏾♂️🤦🏾♂️ 💀
I’m sure ol’ Marty Mar don’t wanna have to “Apologize” while on his knees. That’s why he don’t give a damn about hosting SNL. IMHO
I dont think he was funny at that time either. Too extra. Low brow
This is nothing but a Martin Lawrence version of Redd Foxx's " Wash ya Ass" album. Its on youtube. That joke was a tribute joke almost all comedians use them because most aren't old enough or comically inclined enough to know where the original joke came from. But almost all comedians black and white use tribute jokes. They mainly use old George Carlin, Redd Foxx, Richard Pryor etc....
MARTIN IS MARTIN, every comedian has their own STYLE, ppl laugh at different shit, COMEDY IS SOMETHING YOU CAN LAUGH AT BUT SOMETHING YOU CAN RELATE TO, that's why ALL COMEDIANS have different styles, cause everyone goes through DIFFERENT shit in their life, MARTIN keep doing you son, you don't need snl my ninja, you already MADE from PURE TALENT
If he said that now he would probably have to face a firing squad
Yeah, like an apology 20 something years after the fact is gonna make a difference. And it would be people on the east coast to do the complaining
Wtf does coasts have to do with anything?

6:59 when did nbc send ML an apology letter for banning him?
MARTIN FAN 4 LIFE ... KEEP YOUR HEAD UP MY BROTHER ... ✌❤🙏
At least he was able to get the audio of Martin's monologue
Why narrate the monologue instead of just playing it?
