At the age of 40, I had to get a pacemaker. (I have had a heart issue all my life). And what added to my stress? Worrying about my fate if I passed away and my husband remarried - in the temple. If he did would he like her more than me??? That. Of ALL things was on my mind. Polygamy is a phantom that haunts every woman in the church. Great episode. I’m so glad to be out.
Hi! So, I am a spanish speaking(Served in salt lake mission many years ago, but i am FIMO today), i live in Uruguay so will try my best to write you guys. I look for this lesson in spanish but it is not in the LDS Library so i googled it... this is the deal, in spanish is under the name of "the eternal families"since 2021! And I never knew it existed since today you mention! By the way, the info given in spanish is way more simplistic and creapy, really creapy even the cartoons are diferents. I alway think that the church give diferent info according the lenguage and knowdlege. Thanks for your work.
Same. For me, 3 years. Crickets. “Friends” were only when I gave and gave and gave and gave. Even when I’ve texted to say I’m thinking of them…crickets. Such a Shunning Hardest part of leaving.
I was taught that you only called someone a President who had Priesthood keys. I’m exmo now so it matters not to me and the church today is unrecognizable to the church I was raised in during the 1970.
I’m at the part in the broadcast where you guys are talking about answering questions about personal things to a male church leader, and being taught to trust that leader. You guys are talking about obedience culture is polygamy culture and it came to my mind, I don’t know if it’s going to be mentioned in the next few minutes as I keep listening, but… As a youth I was told, and then it was repeated in the young single adult ward not to turn down anyone for a date or when being asked to dance, so this whole topic of ignoring your internal signals in favor of someone else or in favor of authority, this whole doubting your own instincts and intuition over being kind, polite, obedient, etc. is really dangerous and telling women and young girls that they can’t turn down a boy or a man who asks them out because it took so much courage for the boy or man to do the asking Set women up to be in dangerous situations. Is it any wonder that the BYU‘s have so much sexual assault going on amongst the students? Women are taught to please and appease, to obey and to second-guess themselves I would say even more than the males in the church.
My oldest brother posed as Christ for an artist in Utah more than 15 years ago. My former SIL has the original. She was not married to the brother that posed. I always thought it was pretty strange but that artist used many familiar models in his works. I moved to the Salt Lake valley in the late ‘80s and left in the early ‘20s. I saw some interesting / unusual / funny / weird / strange things in those 30+(far, far too many) years in Utah.
They have more young women members, so they will need to eventually start actively practicing polygamy in order to get those women to the Celestial kingdom.
Hymns...if I were still singing along, I would be happy to see all those military marches/hymns be gone as well as ...dare I say ..praise to the man. It's interesting how the doctrine of grace is changing in the church - and yes, I think we're talking about the doctrine and not policy or anything else that is expected to change.
Ironic that in this day and age where there’s so much controversy over the age of which we teach kids about homosexuality (Johnny has two mommies) that they are introducing plural marriage to very young kids.
Could you folks isolate the segment re:backlash on the cartoon porn for kids on plural marriage????? I want to send that coverage without all the other fabulous coverage on other or related topics in this L-o- n- g podcast???? This is TOO good to be buried in such a lengthy podcast!!!!!!! Including the fantastic article by Lisa Downing. You praise her but do NOT repeat her name ENOUGH and I may have gotten it terribly wrong!!!!! Thanks for this!!!!!

Hilarious new intro!!! Loved it!!
Rebecca reminds me of my favorite Mormon aunt, if she left the church. I think she’s awesome. These three together warms my cold apostate heart.
We have been out about 5 years. We have never been invited back and we thought we were loved.

Hardest part of leaving.
The leaders are saying not to associate with those who leave.
Wow! The intro was a trip! But funny as hell!!!
Sorry I missed the live broadcast. Excellent episode. A very Happy Holidays to you all.
Wow well said Bill❤

I was Primary Pres in the early 90s and in ward council I was called President Young.

Nice tie, RFM
I think they are normalizing it because they are hoping the laws may change, and they can practice their heresy again.
They have more young women members, so they will need to eventually start actively practicing polygamy in order to get those women to the Celestial kingdom.
The outro! 🤣

How does the church explain the proclamation to the family with the polygamy lesson for kids.

Nooooo! Not Brad!
Hey BRETHREN! Leave those kids alone!

The picture of Nelson was 2022. Re run
Does it matter?
I think this book for children is very disturbing 😊
The intro almost made me wanna puke 😂
I measure heads for a living. (It sounds weird. It is kind of weird.) I'm betting RFM's is about 59cm.
Arranged marriages.
In India all the time. Still.
You sure have fun with AI, but I think adding others' voices is a step too far. Even if it's Brad's voice )
