great video! if i may make a recommendation, it would be really nice to get a playthrough of the whole song at the end of the video with the chords included, without the parts seperated
Literally the only reason I'm here is cause my girlfriend thinks this is our song, and I wanted to surprise her and play it for her. So... Yeah, an update 6 years later. She and I broke up, like... a month after this comment. 😂😂
@Lizzygirl36 For the Barre chords, look at her finger instead of the chords printed on the screen 6:58 , she only use 3 fingers(The 1st, 3rd and 4th finger) and she only struming 3 strings(The 5th, 4th and 3rd string). Another thing is that you don't have to press your 1st finger over all the strings. All you have to do is press the 5th string and strum the 5th, 4th, and 3rd string or if too hard to put all 3 fingers there, jus put 2, and strum the 5th and 4th string. hope it helps
Excellent video !! Just please note that when the tune changes the second chord (B) is a major chord and not a minor chord as you wrote and played it :D
please please please can you do the other verses? everywhere else I look the pages say different chords for everything, the chorus as well. PLEASE I need it for classsss!!
@DangerxMagnett 1st finger(index) barring all 6 strings on 2nd fret. That means it presses all l6 strings down. Then 2nd finger on 2nd string 3rd fret and 3rd and 4th finger on 4th fret on D and G string.
Great tutorial! Although I noticed that the chord diagrams for the B major barre chord and Cm barre chord are both pictures of how to play F (6:10) and it looks like you're playing Bm, not B?
This is so helpful! :)))))) but I'm really bad at barre chords and shifting. -____- A little practice could help I guess? :)) QUESTION: Do you play the banjo in the verses too? please answer. tnx.
That you were Romeo, you were throwin' pebbles And my daddy said, "Stay away from Juliet" And I was cryin' on the staircase Beggin' you, "Please don't go, " and I said Romeo, take me somewhere we can be alone I'll be waiting, all there's left to do is run You'll be the prince and I'll be the princess It's a love story, baby, just say, "Yes"
And this is what teatching guitar is all about. =D if the world was full of people like u, learning guitar would be the easyest thing on the planet. Really good job. =)
So for the first verse we play the picking thing but do we play the picking thing for the second verse as well or do we play the chorus for the verse??
:O and this is for Beginners!!!!! :O my fingers are too short (or the guitar too big) for me to play the key change at the end ... any tips on how to simplify it?
gracias, ahora la puedo tocar perfectamente, aunque te saltaste la parte de "so i sena out to the garden to see you, we keep quiet `cause we`re dead if the knew..."
Hey this is a wonderful work. i have to say ., that your teaching is so clear and you made the whole song so easy. You clearly made to the point by not complicating it at all at any point of time,. Hats off !!! cheers " Gokul "
Could someone please explain to me what fingers go where for those two bar chords at the end, right after she plays the E? I can't figure them out. I follow the diagrams on the screen, but they aren't acurate.
I do Bm differently... Several variations. But by looking at your fingers, I can't exactly get how you're doing it. Diagram, please? I love how this sounds!!
@MsLZ1993 They're not. In the B Barre chord you strum all the chords and the barring finger is covering all the chords. The B Minor is only covering the 5 on down and the top string is muted.
I took 2 months to master this whole damn hard but beautiful piece. You'll get used to b minor when you practice it over time trust me :D. Im a Beginner too
@TheLuchiaPrincess1 For tje fingers you use, it's really up to you. There's no specific fingering really. Just do whatever is comfortable and easy for you c:
@EkoFriendXbox the x's mean DONOT play and the diamonds or 0 means play open string , open string means play it without holding a fret... i hope you understand wat i mean
I don't get it when you change to they key of E. I can not get the B major to sound right so I'm using Bm instead and it looks on the movie that you are doing it aswell. I'm confused, please answer.
trying to learn Eric Clapton licks nowadays and going back learning this type of simple yet so soulful song take me back to those days when I just picked up the guitar and learnt to play F chord with Taylor's songs.
@celeneluvsguitarz depends on the make of your guitar, the materials used, especially the types of strings you use. Lots of things go into how the guitar sounds
Just spend loads of time practicing barre chords, they're tricky (and bloody frustrating) at first but once you get them figured out you're playing will get much better :)
@EkoFriendXbox Diamonds and Xs already got answered for ya, but as for your hands... if your right handed you strum with your right and finger the chords with your left. Unless someone specifically teaches a strum pattern you strum to the beat of the song, you can feel it. Strumming also mirrors the drums... google strum patterns. Alot of popular music uses common strum patterns, usually they are represented by D's and U's for Down and Up ( D D DUDU UD DUDU for example)
thank you so much for this! it's a little complicated since i don't play guitar very long, but you explained it really good so i'll probably be able to play it in a few days. you're great! :)
Nice and really useful. It's not perfect, off course, but that makes it so funny and nice to watch and learn. U're really sweet. Thanx for the lesson and for your positive energy!
Is it just me, or is the Asus not neccesary because you can just play a Dsus2 again for the last chord of the intro? since you dont use the d-string there....
How is B minor possible? You need four fingers and a thumb according to the diagram. I only have 4 fingers available, since my thumb is behind the neck of the guitar.
what are the chords for the first couplet "we were both young... little did I know" and also for the couplets "so I sneak out to the garden ... keep this down for a little while" and the couplet "Romeo, save me, they try to ... baby, just say yes"
You can play the verse 1 (we were both young....summer air) with D G Bm G, and the second part of the verse ( see the lights....did i know) with D G Bm A. Verse 2 (so I sneak out....for a little while) with D G Bm A, and I believe the "romeo save me...just say yes" part is same as the chorus...at least that's how I play it :p. Hope this helped :)
I finally figured it out! But it was frustrating. Do this: Index finger in the 3rd fret on string 5, middle finger in 4th fret on string 3, and ring finger also in 4th fret on string 4. It sounds exactly like what she's playing.
I'm a beginner- beginner. Like, I first picked up a guitar an hour ago. So, I'm really confused. Can someone please tell me the chords of the song in order with frets first and string second, and which finger I use? For example in the first part of this song: Fret 2, string 3, finger 1. Fret 3, string 2, finger 2. Thanks so much! I promised my 6 year old sister to teach her how to play this song. :)
I really really like the way you teach but I m a noobie and I need to know how many times each chord is played and how long each chord stays. Someone help me please!
great video! if i may make a recommendation, it would be really nice to get a playthrough of the whole song at the end of the video with the chords included, without the parts seperated
The B-Barre chord is displayed incorrectly around 7:03 - you may wanna fix that
AGENTARMES yeah its Bm and not B major
It should be major (V chord in the key of E), it's just that the shape being shown is incorrect.
is there a palm mute ?
Literally the only reason I'm here is cause my girlfriend thinks this is our song, and I wanted to surprise her and play it for her.
So... Yeah, an update 6 years later. She and I broke up, like... a month after this comment. 😂😂
That's cute , she is lucky 💙😭
that's exactly the same reason i'm here too , need to learn it before her birthday :) I wanna surprise her
can u be my boyfriend thanks
lucky for you since this one still is a easy to play. If you gf think some Gun and Rose songs are yours, you're doomed.
Alexander Eddy ur so cutttee
"You're lucky this time" LMFAO

Damn I'm!
Damn right boi

thank you so much. I'm playing this song to the children at the orphanage for our csr project.
Excellent video !! Just please note that when the tune changes the second chord (B) is a major chord and not a minor chord as you wrote and played it :D
the second chorus part. Is it a B major or a B minor? You played B minor.
It is a B Minor ☺️
@@Benjiismyworld thank you!!!

what is the finger placement on the BM?? like which finger goes where???
yesssss for the hopeless romantic musician types such as myself! Thank you! very much appreciated 😘
one of the easiest and best guitar lesson done . thanx !
Great tutorial! Although I noticed that the chord diagrams for the B major barre chord and Cm barre chord are both pictures of how to play F (6:10) and it looks like you're playing Bm, not B?
i am confused regarding the same. I have been trying to get what she is playing, but what I am playing sounds very different from what she s playing
This is so helpful! :)))))) but I'm really bad at barre chords and shifting. -____- A little practice could help I guess? :))
QUESTION: Do you play the banjo in the verses too? please answer. tnx.
2013 and still learning it. It was awesome. And thanks for singing along. It really helps.
And I especially loved the banjo part ;)
Cheers

hello mam , lesson is really good .but one part is missing , tune before' I got tired of waiting'..
please make a lesson on that piece

Happy that you mastered it
I think the cord for the verse is Dsus2 - Asus - BM - G.. not Dsus2 - BM - G - Asus..D:
you played the 3rd finger on the D string in the B Barre Chord while it says to do the 3rd finger on the A string, Which is right??
@TheLuchiaPrincess1 For tje fingers you use, it's really up to you. There's no specific fingering really. Just do whatever is comfortable and easy for you c:
I don't get what I have to play ate the beginning...at we're both young till this pre-chorus....which chords do I have to play for the prechorus???
is it always strumming the strings downwards & how do you know when to strum downwards?
thanks for the tutorial....it was helpfull...only thing give me an alternative for bm chor...its a lil tough
can i ask about the strumming part
of the chorus? where to begin to strum? what string?
omfg the way you switch between chords are so graceful..
@EkoFriendXbox the x's mean DONOT play and the diamonds or 0 means play open string , open string means play it without holding a fret... i hope you understand wat i mean

Does anyone know what guitar is this? I believe it’s a Martin but I don’t which one :( Anyone pleaseee? 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼
trying to learn Eric Clapton licks nowadays and going back learning this type of simple yet so soulful song take me back to those days when I just picked up the guitar and learnt to play F chord with Taylor's songs.
I don't know if you guys take requests, but if you do...could you please demonstrate how to play red ragtop?
your voice is really good am i the only one who thought that?
That's true beautiful voice
The G chord picking doesnt fit with Dsus2 and Bm :( on my guitar and it is already tune :/ is there another chord please?
Best tutorial EVER.
@sunflowersonmaui you can use what i called a little bm which instead of baring all the strings i only bar the last two
hey what was the first acord?? is that d?? or what please answer
@celeneluvsguitarz depends on the make of your guitar, the materials used, especially the types of strings you use. Lots of things go into how the guitar sounds
What's the easiest way to tune my guitar like that dadgad? Or drop d? What do you guys suggest? What is Taylor's tune?
you are awesome!! please do a tutorial for "Kisses back" Mathew Koma please
I'm having a hard time doing the bm chord because my hands won't stretch across the neck of the guitar. Any tips so I could do the chord?
try to do the shortcut
Just spend loads of time practicing barre chords, they're tricky (and bloody frustrating) at first but once you get them figured out you're playing will get much better :)
Is there any place we can take the chords with the lyrics? Thanks!
To me I think you’re missing the B maj and playing a Bm. at around 7:45.
How do you do the B barre and C at the end ? It looked like bm
can u do video on how to do barre chords better?
This looks hard but I will try. Thanks a bunch, I wanna play and sing this on my music exams.
Exellent teaching style!

Well the Cm chord shown there(at 7:15) is incorrect
Bm just correction
How do you strum it, i got it perfectly but i can't get the strumming right how do you strum it
thank you so much for this! it's a little complicated since i don't play guitar very long, but you explained it really good so i'll probably be able to play it in a few days. you're great! :)
please tell me in which which number string u are stroking?
Hi! can someone send me a link or tabs for the guitar solo before the bridge???
Best tutorial ever, you've got an amazing voice, keep it up!!
Does anybody know how many strokes for the chorus and pre chorus??
I'm confused which fingers you have on which frets for the B minor
@mahalodotcom
@megaSkate5000 the plucking part, like the intro. or just play the same chords as the intro without the plucking :)
When you read music, how are you suppose to know what fret to start on?
My fingers are short.. Im jealous 😢
that sounds toxic lol
@@kaaarunya_ you are toxic 😝😝
You know short fingers are lucky for guitar...... Be happy it's true
Is it 8th strumming for the pre chorus?
i like the way you play it, its easy but i think the key is a littlepit change like Dsus2 ,Asus, Bm,and than G its sound good but i just said..thanks
What a fantastic lesson. This is the way guitar should be taught. Hats off Guys, and thanks.

I love you! I wish i could play like you....but it's just a little practice

what should we play for the verse? the "we were both young..."
What's the strum pattern for the pre chorus, and chorus??
what are the chords for the first couplet "we were both young... little did I know"
and also for the couplets "so I sneak out to the garden ... keep this down for a little while"
and the couplet "Romeo, save me, they try to ... baby, just say yes"
R U playing a Fender CC-60SCE guitar?
You can play the verse 1 (we were both young....summer air) with D G Bm G, and the second part of the verse ( see the lights....did i know) with D G Bm A. Verse 2 (so I sneak out....for a little while) with D G Bm A, and I believe the "romeo save me...just say yes" part is same as the chorus...at least that's how I play it :p. Hope this helped :)
I finally figured it out! But it was frustrating.
Do this: Index finger in the 3rd fret on string 5, middle finger in 4th fret on string 3, and ring finger also in 4th fret on string 4. It sounds exactly like what she's playing.
you are awesome!! please do a tutorial for "Kisses back" Mathew Koma pleaseeeee
How did you strum it for the chords?
good job guys... raman sir , krishna , sudhir ..really awsum... :)
Thanks ma'am for dis beautiful totural

what is your strum pattern for the pre chorus and chorus?? BTW this is an awesome tutorial:)
I Like This Teacher Because She Explains Ir better Meanbwhile the OtherOne Just Says The Chords & Then Says "bye"
Which strings are you strumming? 😩
it's only down strokes on each string
The diagrams show with circles what strings to hit
she is awesome teacher ....and i learnt
omg! thanx for the help! i actually managed to finish the entire song! I think you made it pretty easy... :)
hey can you please show me how to play scarborough fair
