Always loves watching the rider cup started playing golf in 83/84 as a 12 year old . Still got the bug 36 years later

The Belfry stands as one of sports great contests.
An American nation grieving yet boasting a team of greats, a European team sympathetic but lacking true quality on paper.
It came down to the final day, where Paul McGinely sank that putt to end it all after a fascinating finish.
True tears of solidarity and comradeship, no back biting or bitching (looking at you Phil Mickelson, after Tom Watson’s team in 2014).
    Just fair dues and respect.

You must be a Yank, because you seem unaware that when the teams were picked in 2001, no European player had a world ranking worse than 51. Every man of them was a high quality player with multiple tour wins. Not one dog. And they proved their quality be beating America. The fact you may never have heard of Philip Price is just typical Yank ignorance of the wider world. But Mickelson knew him.

Curtis Strange was very dignified. Another very close and exciting event.

Such a great cup. So sad though, of all the Ryder Cups I really wanted us to win.... it was 2002.

Paul McGinley’s shot on the 17th deflected away from the bunker when it my brother’s hip and bounced back on course. He likes to think he helped Europe win the Ryder Cup. LOL!!!

It's not a risk playing big names first in 1 on 1? It's a big risk leaving them last when all is lost...
