Suggestion: When showing off each lens, provide a photo to show the quality of the what it can bring to the table. It's kind of like watching a video about vacuums, but never seeing someone clean with them. How do I know what to expect without seeing example? Having some shots to accompany this video, whether in motion or static would be a huge plus. This will really help sell the video more and bring more people to your channel because you're delivering on not just what is being shown, but how it looks in practice.
That's my biggest pet peve with any video that talks about gear. It cool and all to mention the characteristics of any particular piece of equipment, but you really need to show what it can do to give the viewer the full picture :)
50mm 1.8g is better than the way more expensive 85mm. Nikon 40mm 2.8 macro is better the 25mm. Sigma 10-20 great for landscapes at low cost. Nikon 70-300mm vr is better than the 18-270.
@@calebmamalis1882 if you can afford nikon 200-500 f5.6 go for it. Sigma 100-400 is a good choice, or tamron 150-600, they're all great, is up to your budget, always look for wide apertures
The Tamron at the end is a great all around lens, especially if someone didn't get the 2 lens kit... an alternative, a bit more spendy, would be a 70-200/2.8... An alternative to the wide and fast zoom, would be a slightly less wide aperture f/2.8 zoom in the 18-50 range... Those 2 f/2.8 zooms, as well as a couple fast primes, like the 35mm or 50mm, and 85mm you listed would be an awesome setup...
If you are looking for a lens for under 800$ I would the Nikkor 18-300mm vr Ed 1:3.5-6.3g. I use it and it is crazy good for almost any and all situations. I use it way more than my 35mm suggested in the video.
The AF Zoom-NIKKOR 70-300mm f/4-5.6G is a lightweight and versatile option for those seeking affordable telephoto zoom capability. With a 300mm maximum focal length
the 85mm and the Venus are designed for 135 format, not APS-C. More, the Venus is manual focus only and I thing does not have the aperture lever to not be necessary to focus wide open and then to close the aperture to the desired value.
Great info! Fantastic Thanks! Wondering will the auto focus work on the 85mm lens? I saw on Rockwell review that you have to manually focus that 85mm lens on the d3500
So the ultimate question would be, which is the best out of the 5? Or which is going to be the best purchase out of the 5? Granted I like shooting wildlife and already looked into a Nikon AF-S FX NIKKOR 200-500mm f/5.6E ED Vibration Reduction Zoom Lens...but a nice wide angle upgrade is always on my radar.
Best wide angle to normal lens is the sigma 18-35 f1.8 its litterly the sharpest lens in the world, and if you want to shoot wildlife you may consider the Sigma 150-600mm Sports version, not the contemporary version. The lens is fully metal, more zoom range, weather sealed, dust sealed and insane build quality BUT it weights a lot compared to the Nikon 200-500mm
Hey Dominick! I am going into product photography (large items-- rustic furniture). I have this camera, but want to know which lens you would recommend for the best pictures. I am learning on YT how to play around with the softboxes, but the lens is where i'm stuck at. Any help will be truly appreciated!
Hi , I am Dr bala. Does Nikon d3500 compatible with Sigma 150-600 mm f/5-6.3 DG OS HSM Contemporary or sports. And does it will be compatible with tamron 150-600. And Nicor 200-500mm. If so , which is best. Kindly please guide me sir.
Can somebody help me pls? I have a Nikon D3500 but I want to use it for video. The autofocus is pretty bad, it goes always in and out focus while shooting video. Is buying a better lens with faster autofocus a solution for this? Or is it a problem caused by the camera body itself?
Stop hitting that auto focus. Doing things manually will bring more stability to your videography eventually and the basic standard lens provided is pretty shitty too get rid of them asap. I'm trying to do so as well lol
No, it has an AF and MF switch for Auto-Focus and Manual Focus and it is a good idea to buy a FF lens, like the 35 1.8 and others like a 18-35 as a very wide zoom, so when you decide to go to FF you will have a couple of good lenses and can use the 35mm as a 35mm, Etc. Saves a fortune in buying all new lenses.
Hello, thanks for the video #Focus Camera but I´m a bit scared because I had bought the sigma 18-35mm f1.8 art lense for my nikon d3500 camera and after buy it I have read differents reportings of auto focus issues on nikon d7100/ d500/ etc with this lense. I cannot have tested yet because I´m waiting for the sigma dock (To have AF compatibility in my camera). Have you had any issue with the sigma 1835mm f1.8 in your nikon d3500?
Some one, anyone, how is the last one cheaper than the sigma one? I am a novice, but didn't the sigma have more range but the last one had macro and megazoom capability and was cheaper? How?
There is a lot more to a lens then zoom range, the quality of the glass inside makes a huge difference in the sharpness of your pictures. I'd be willing to bet the sigma takes much sharper pictures that that tamron. Also, the sigma has a much wider maximum aperture, which means you can let in more light and have more blurry backgrounds. While the tamron may be more cheaper and more convenient(less having to swap lenses), I doubt it comes close to the sigma in image quality, which is why most professional photographers stay away from superzooms.
the idea is that you spend money on quality glass tho that way you don't have to keep buying more lenses as you get better and upgrade cameras. If you buy a cheaper lens now, one day you'll upgrade your camera and then wish you had a good quality lens to match it
I disagree , the d3500 is good enough for portraiture lens like that, don’t need the fastest of shutter speed or the best autofocus for the purpose. It’s about filling the resolution and the sensor in d3500 is good enough to optimally catch the image given by the lens
Presuming the user already has a 18-55 3.5 vr that came with the camera and possibly a 70-300 non vr lens also bundled with the camera, I can't believe your recommendations. The 35mm 1.8 is good, but a 10-20mm af-p dx 3.5 for $300 should be in there, the 70-300 (perhaps suggesting the VR AF-P version), then possibly a macro (I'd go with the Nikon 65mm 2.8). Then find the fixed lengths that you love and go from there, or a super telephoto if that is how you roll. Possibly a fisheye because everyone loves fisheyes. I mean the Sigma art lens is fine but not needed for a beginner. That's five extra pounds of glass to lug about when you won't need it 90% of the time. That Venus lens is going to confuse the @&$# out of a beginner and it probably won't meter with a D3500 either, so all their helps go away. The 85 1.8 is a fine lens but that is a passion lens, not a general lens. (And a 50 1.8 or even 1.4 may be better for portrait on an DX camera anyway.)
did something fall down the stairs at the 2 minute mark? wtf is that background audio lmao. Also thanks for the pointless unboxing video. You literally have the camera right there in your hand, how hard would it be to do literally any amount of demo? The only way a video like this would be helpful to a buyer or a novice is if you actually compared your lenses to OTHER suboptimal lenses. Why are your arbitrary picks any better? But again, redo your audio man! You can't be having people slamming doors or falling down stairs or whatever the fuck you have going on in that clownhouse.

Go for the old sigma 17-50mm 2.8 lens. Its an amazing cheap lens with constant aperture. Has its flaws but in that price range. Nothing beats it
Absolutely right 👍🇮🇳

I’m going to buy a d5600. Do these lens work on the d5600? Great video. Love from Ireland 🇮🇪
Yes, same category
Check the lens compability especially concerning 3rd parties, some features may not work if the lens is a bit old

The 85mm
Dose those lenses work with d3400 as well
I’m pretty sure it does
Yes. They're not very different. They have the same sensor and mount so they share all lenses.
nikon af-s DX 55-300mm lens and nikon af-p nikkor 70-300mm f4.5-5.6e lense ..
