Thank you so much for letting me play the piano! It was such an amazing experience!
Smart Game Piano how are these projects financed? This is such a nice orchestra and you, as the pianist, also the sax. All professionals? How is this for free!?
Yay SGP! So happy to see you branching out into collabs like this
You were amazing
@@FragelBagel I wanna do MAOR
@@deankimball8586 Thank you so much!
That C section or whatever that is before the alto solo is sick. Nice, man!
You should play EWI in their next video. That would be amazing
I never thought a c-section could be so pleasurable
Hehe
@insaneintherainmusic You’re one of the best new-age jazz artists around today, keep up the great work!
@@younix258 fun fact I was born through a c section. Maybe that's why I think this is so cool.
Wow. If I wasn't a DKC fan, I'd think this was from a high-budget anime film. You guys never disappoint.
Aquatic Ambience is about as close as it gets to a video game jazz standard, but this is still the best version I've ever heard.
I would love to hear Halo ODST big band jazz
OH Y E S
Do it for the feels please
That would be epic
Fairly certain this is the most underrated band ever
Yeah there amazing, I'm working on a idie game so I can only dream about hiring them
@@thejbirdtm3331I know how you feel man
This channel deserves so many more subs, the arrangements are always so good
Agreed @8000ice. Agreed.
I mean as much as I love this channel, I don’t really think jazz is as popular as it used to be.(this is coming from a major jazz enthusiast)
@@prestonalan8472 true, and I agree, but Kamasi Washington has racked up tens of millions of views on TH-cam, not to mention insaneintherain, who has 250k subscribers. This channel needs at least a couple more subs for the quality of videos they put out
Jackson Baldwin fair point. Regardless this channel is severely underrated
Yeah IKR. Some of the vids have more views than they have subs, that’s shows how loved their arrangements are.
I remember the exact Christmas night when we got Donkey Kong Country as a gift, my two brothers and I were at an aunt's place and were so excited to go back home and play in our SNES! The graphics, the cooperative gameplay and the all songs were astonishing, but this one from aquatic ambiance did set a completely new high standard. Thank you for bringing back such fond memories and congratulations on this masterpiece, in every aspect of it!
Thanks for sharing that lovely memory :)
Piano riff at 2:15 is from Khachaturian Toccata
I recognised it from there too
You gotta love the Armenian elements that are incorporated in jazz nowadays
Ha yep totally. I’ve played that song for 15 years.
Now I have to look that up when I go home
We gotta give some praise to the soprano. Her voice adds a subtle but lovely color to the melody and especially the final ending chord. Just absolutely beautiful scoring and singing.
When I was young, my brother had a SNES and I used to play Donkey Kong country with him and my mother, this soundtrack was always eerie and beautiful to me. My brother passed away last year and this brought back some good memories, thank you.
Beautiful story. I’m so sorry for your loss. 💐❤️💐
1:09 I never thought I would hear something of a beat drop in such a calming song... wow
Best bassoon playing I’ve heard in a while, and that’s saying something because I’m a bassoon player
Bassoon gang. 👍💪
At 5:16 you can hear the band breathing in. It just tells you how quiet the band needed to get near the end. Absolutely breathtaking!
This came up once in an Acid trip. It was so beautiful and amazing lol.
As a composer, arranger, and orchestrator, I can't help but want to sneak peeks at every score this group has performed just to learn more. The soundscape here is akin to something I've just recently become involved in (an orchestra/wind ensemble mix) so I've just been listening and trying to learn by ear.
Brilliant work!
David Wise! A GENIUS!
I would LOVE to hear this group's take on Secret of the Forest from Chrono Trigger! It's one of my favorite soundtrack charts and you guys would be amazing at capturing the lushness of the piece.
Please
Or any Chrono Trigger song. I've heard some decent renditions and others... not so much.
Yup, that would be amazing
Corridors of time
Depths Of The Night. Wind Scene. At The End Of Time. The Day The World Revived. Peaceful Days. The Wings Of Time. Undersea Palace. Black Omen. To Good Friends. The Trial. Literally any song from Chrono.
I'm not crying.... YOU'RE CRYING
Seriously, there's no limit to the quality of content from your arrangements. As always, awesome job!
THEY DID IT AGAIN! Every cover tops the last!
I’d pay money for a live performance!
Here I am, sitting in an airport with tears in my eyes.
Thanking for taking a beautiful piece of music and putting your own passion and talent into making it even more beautiful.
So good! Getting some Snarky Puppy x Metropole Orkest vibes
Perfect description
This is beautifully made, well done!
I know people say things like this a lot but... How the hell don't you have more views and subs? This is MAJESTIC.
That sax guy is tearing it up!
This is my favorite cover of this song. It is perfection.
That was great. One of the best songs in DKC history.
This is, hands down, one of the most beautiful things I've ever heard. I know "one of the ___" gets thrown around a lot, but this brings me to tears every single time. I legitimately cannot think of any adjectives that would do this work of art justice. Thank you.
Gorgeous
Oh my god this orchestration is the best I’ve heard in a long time.
Truly mesmerizing couldn’t stop listening , every measure was purely put together...
0:46 sounds so deep and beautiful with the oboes and the piano, it's breathtaking
Sans The bassoonist sounds so good
Whoa 🤯 😭 takes me back I'd just load the first underwater stage and just fall asleep with it running
Damn! For a person who loves jazz and VG music. This hits hella hard 💕🫠💕
I think a Kirby arrangement would be a pretty good challenge. Probably something like Havoc Aboard the Halberd? Or maybe something like Float Islands? Or a medley(
One of my all-time favorite video game tracks turned into a beautiful jazz symphony arrangement. What's not to love? This was fantastic!
I LOVE the bend into that note at 2:42 because it sounds EXACTLY how the snes sound chip would bend a note like in the chrono trigger soundtrack or something
aaaaa this track makes my heart melt!! i adore this arangement!!
*Oh now this is **_classic._*
As a fan of the original trilogy and 64, this is a pleasant surprise! K. Rool in Smash shocked me just a bit more as it was just a dream come true.
When I first heard your cover of this on Spotify, I fell in love. I wonder what could be done with something like Jinjo Village or Gruntilda’s lair from Banjo-Kazooie and Tooie. With your touch though, it’d be breathtaking.
A jazz cover of Gruntilda's Lair would be the coolest thing I'd see that day, no doubt.
@epicRedHot I was thinking more Jazz-jo Village than Gruntilda’s Jazz. Honestly would love Spiral Mountain the most though.
This just shows how Video Games are an Underrated form of art.
She is breathtaking at piano and composition, thank you for bringing her to my attention and great performance as always!
That chord at 3:07 with the saxophone is TRANSCENDENT
This is amazing. Omg my little geeky soul. I love the bridge between my two passions. Music and gaming. Thank you for a beautiful rendition.
Its not everyday the bassoon gets to shine. Made my day!
This song always make me cry. Glad it got more up beat at the end.
man these guys really brought it to life with the way the played it! simply magnificent!
I look forward to when you guys cover Stickerbrush Symphony
Not gonna lie. I screamed when I found this in my sub box.
I gasped so loud as I was setting down at my college.
from 2:20 I felt losing my breath underwater but I was so happy! Thank you for this!
Please do Gang-Plank Galleon next.
This was so good! I can't even listen to the original song anymore because when I listen to it I just get reminded of this and I'd rather listen to this.
It’s criminal how few views this video has compared to some of your others because this is definitely one of your best renditions. That sax solo is really the cherry on top to a really dynamic and great reinterpretation of this song.
Wish I heard about this channel sooner! The music and arrangment are absolutely amazing!
Gould with Strings! Awesome, as always, Charlie!
Wow, you guys really brought the magic with this song. 1:11 made me think it was a hidden easy listening song out of the 70s and around 2:20 it transitions into a nice & slow big band section with a nice jazzy sax solo.
It really has mystical, somber, and bold emotions all rolled up into one.
As I clicked on this, I was wondering, "How are they gonna do such a chilled out track??" and you guys KNOCKED it out of the park (as per usual lol.) Insanely good arranging and musicianship on display!
WOW, this cover is so beautiful. I shed my tears, not just because of nostalgia, but because of the arrangement of the music. Thank you so much!
If donkey kong country became open world
If DK became.. Kong, James Kong.
Monke Fantasy: A Banana Reborn
That’s amazing. The passion and dedication for what you all are doing is seen here. I absolutely appreciate the time that went in to perform such a song that I remember hearing so much as a child! May you all continue to do more awesome covers and originals!
I’m gettin some crazy Kenny Wheeler vibes. Killin’ it as always!!
Gorgeous arrangement! I really like the addition of the female voice on top of the ensemble, one of my favorite orchestrational colors that Kenny Wheeler used to use.
Yes more dkc please and thank you
OMG dat sax solo
this actually made me kinda cry!! Such nostalgia!!!!
These are timeless renditions of fantastic music and hopefully are listened for hundreds of years to come. Beautiful music never dies.
This has gotta be one of the best things on the internet... just incredible 🤯
My faviote song replayed into a more beautiful version it made me cry tears of joy
The ending to the piece makes me cry tears of joy; it's that beautiful.
Okay I love the arrangement, but why does it sound like it's straight out of a Kingdom Hearts game?
Kongdom Hearts
Flutes, piano, strings.
@@einootspork Illuminati confirmed
It does sort of sound like the March Caprice after the bass drop
Other than that the piano and flute solos do call Yoko to mind
Here from reading about this in the JazzTimes magazine 🤩 Awesome arrangement! Seeing this channel and Insaneintherain is soooo so inspiring!
Stunning arrangement, as always! And what a pleasantly surprising collaboration - Sydney's playing was delightful as usual!
Absolutely BEAUTIFUL, one of the most emotion filled covers I've heard from you guys. The arrangement/instrumentation reminds me an awful lot of the music in Steven Schwarz' Wicked, incredible performance!!!!
Such a gorgeous arrangement; I think it captures really well the atmospheric sensation and dissonant harmony of the original. The chords resolve, but they go through such a journey that leaves one feeling deep in uncertain wonder. It's perfect.
So good, can't believe I just now found the band. Thanks
Why hasn't Google's algorithm lead me here back in 2019? Well glad to have seen/heard this now.
Love the 007 vibe I get from certain moments. How do you pull that off of a DK song? Amazing!
Thank you for bringing me right back to my childhood in a very beautiful way.
I have this feeling that the band put an extra amount of heart and soul into this specific arrangement.
I'm crying tears of joy to hear that beautiful music.❤️ Big thank you for sharing
the bassoon lady is so chill!
This deserves so many more views. Excellent work from everyone involved!!
This is gorgeous to say the least - the string textures are a wonderful (and welcome!) addition to the big band sound!
The harmony choice is mind blowing to me
Man this track is so nice I could go to sleep to it, (I mean this as a compliment)
I have been anticipating this song for the past couple months! Thankfully, I can now pester everyone on social media with a link of the full, flawless performance. Kudos and much love!!!
I can't even begin to explain all the emotions I felt during this video. Spectacular performance!
Cool bassoon part :). Great arrangement and playing by all.
My childhood nostalgia absolutely loved this --- marvelous work!
Masterful alto saxophonist jaw dropping solo “scrambled the eggs properly “ Wayne shorter and Coltrane would be proud
This is an amazing rendition of this song. I'd recommend trying out Dearly Beloved from Kingdom Hearts (I&II), as well as any of the other songs composed by Nobuo Uematsu or Yoko Shimomura.
This was absolutely gorgeous. I love this tune to pieces and from arrangement to performance you completely elevated Dave Wise’s already brilliant work. Bravo.
Honestly one of the greatest soundtracks from a video game ever easily in my top 10 SNES tracks
David Wise approves this video.
Damn I love this so much. Really made me wish for you guys to do a cover of Secret of the Forest from Chrono Trigger, which is a similarly haunting and gorgeous song
WHAT HAVE YOU DONE?!
Astounding arrangement as usual! So much emotion in this.
Man, this arrangement feels so good! It sometimes sounds like it came from Chrono Trigger and at other points sounds like Xenoblade Chronicles... I am IN LOVE with it!
I appreciate the animation taking a step back for this one. Well done, everyone!
This is definitely the best one yet, ever since I was a kid I knew this song was begging for an orchestral version
Makes me wanna cry. Well done
Holy cow, god-tier musicianship and arrangements on this channel.
Someone NEEDS to show this to David Wise!
You guys are amazing.
It's almost a crime that you don't have more subscribers.
The production values and music arrangements are incredible!
You're welcome.
Keep up the great work! :D
