Saenchai is umpredictable brilliant skiils. Buakaw is unhinged relentless power. Both are national heroes in Thailand and the biggest Muay Thai legends. Saenchai and Buakaw are friends and absolute admirers of each other.

The sport is called Muay Thai. It originates from Thailand, in fact it's their national sport over there, it's superpopular but it's not as big in the west but it's growing. In english it is commonly referred to as "thaiboxing". It is very similar to kickboxing, but muay thai is more badass because there are more techniques allowed. For instance in muay thai you are also allowed to use elbows and knees, also clinching is a big part of muay thai and you often see fighters clinch and knee each other to the ribs. Also in kickboxing they often restrict kicks so that you can only kick to the upper body, whereas in muay thai leg kicks are a very common technique.
In Thailand many professional muay thai fighters started training when they were just little kids. In Thailand you can find 12 year old kids who have already fought around a 100 professional fights. It's more than a sport to the thai people, it's like a way of life and for many a way out of poverty. All those years of training muay thai which involves kicking heavy bags, pads and running all the damn time hardens their bodies, especially their shinbones which become extremely hard, that's why you can see adult muay thai fighters being able to kick down banana trees with their shin bones.
Saenchai, the guy in the video, is a living muay thai legend. He has like over 300 wins in his career and as for as I know he has never been knocked out. As you can see his style is very fluid. He is extremely deceptive and creative, he often tricks his opponents with feints and sneaky kicks that seem to come out of nowhere. He's also extremely confident which is why he often toys with his opponents, it almost seems as if he's not even trying. Those are just some of the reasons why so many people love him, he's a joy to watch. He also has a great fun and playful personality, but he can still kick your ass. He's a pretty small guy and most of his opponents are larger than him, but Saenchai proves that height and reach are not determining factors in a fight. The weird kick you wanted to know the name of is called the cartwheel kick, it was in fact invented by Saenchai and I think he's the only one who actually uses it. It's kind of a risky kick to throw because if the opponent would leg kick at the same time Saenchai could get kicked hard in the face, but Saenchai likes doing unorthodox and creative things and to show off.

why he's so good coz i think he got Koed at 9 years old so he trained super hard from that day onward so he would never get koed again and thats why hes the best ever in muay thai

@@jd1ify Yeah, I’ve read he was KO’d once at a very early age and was never KO’d again the rest of his career. Pretty impressive

I do have to say the cartwheel kick was NOT invented by Saenchai, but became very well known due to him. He explains in a video where Superbon comes to him to learn 3 moves and that was 1 of them, and says that it’s an ancient move barely anyone uses anymore and he aims to keep the ancient ways of the art alive.

8:42.. Not sped up. Most Thai fighters start training at the age of like 5 or 6 and are often sent away to compete by the age of 8 or 9. The ones who are able to become elite fighters at the national (and certainly international as in Saenchai's case) level are some of the most talented strikers on earth. Take any UFC elite striker and make him fight in Bangkok under more or less standard kickboxing regulations with someone like Saenchai and 99.9% of the time they'll get absolutely humiliated.

Thanks Robert - He is and will always be the legendary King of Muay Thai. Check out some of his videos about his antics during fight videos. He kisses almost every opponent while in the clinch.at some point, and really messes with their heads. If I was a Muay Thai fighter - it would be the honor of my life to go the distance with Senchai.

Dear! that stylistic kicking probably called: Saenchai's Scissors kicking style . Muay Thais nowadays Originally from Kampuchea, to pronounce (Kampuchjea), internationally known as CAMBODIA after France colonization the country. You can find ancient Khmer fighting ARTs styles (Kun Khmer) curved all over Baryon, Angkor wat temple walls in Siam reap City, once Cambodia was a KHMER IMPIRE in most southeast Asia. it cover allover Thailand today.✌

the kick where he is on one hand is a kick that is present in capoeira, in breakdance, in muay boran(the martial art behind the fighting sport muay thai) and in muay thai. In different fields it has different names. In capoeira its called au batido or bananeira, in breakdance its called the Nike kick and it is executed often as a freeze, meaning the bboy holds it for a few seconds, different bboys add their own styles to the execution, like, grabbing the extended leg or the back leg or anything other. It is very hard to execute, because you need some sense of hand balance and a good basic carthwheel, and it is even harder to pull it in a fight with gloves on, cause it is hard to balance on a hand with a glove, but it is like a trademark to Saenchai. Saenchai is regarded as the most technical still active muay thai fighter, a real legend and a insanely frustrating opponent. The fact that he plays with his opponents like that shows the level that he is on. Not many world champions outside Thailand can say that they beated him, and he often fights heavier opponents. The guy is a magician with the gloves on, like a painter that paints with kicks and elbows

Literally one of his kicks has the power to put someone in hospital. You have to understand, these guys train from around 5 years old. I've trained there myself. They are tough as fuck. Almost broke my leg kicking my coach during sparring, and he had pads on lol. His shins felt like they were made of rock. Trust me, you don't want to fight a Thai boxer, let alone the best in the world.

another thing many don't mention is that he's a southpaw which imo has a lot of advantages as not many people are southpaw. So once you're in a ring with a southpaw opponent you have to change your fighting style, because what works on an orthodox opponent doesn't work on a southpaw. You have no idea how many times people get confused when sparring with me....however since most people are orthodox it's easy for me to know what works and what doesn't.
