I don't normally comment on my runs, but thanks everyone for checking this one out. Deuce, Bich, and I had a lot of fun doing this and I'm glad you all enjoyed watching us act like idiots.
I have killed the jelly ONCE during my childhood. I always loved this game. The story was amazing. I especially loved the music. I am still hoping for another Lufia game :)
Technically, there are six Lufia games. One is a mobile title with just the ancient cave and one is a remake of Lufia 2, which you probably know as just Lufia. That was the best game of the series, though, so not sure if you want to go out of your way to check the others out.
So there are two deadly swords in the cave. One has the description of something like "the power of deadly sword turned into a sword" and the other says "an ominous looking sword". The first one does not have the ability to instantly kill, the second one does.
It has one of the best endings of an RPG ever. Definitely play the whole thing if you can bust out the old console/some alternative. Worth your time, definitely.
Just real quick: the idea that red cores escape battle 75% of the time is incorrect. Or at the very least, it depends on where/when you encounter them. Just now I was trying to level up a bit to win my first encounter against Gades to get his blade for Guy and I encountered 31 of them, all of which ran. Anyone who's mathematically illiterate might say I was just unlucky, but if you do the math you'll realize that the chances of that happening would be 0.013%. In other words, practically impossible. Therefore, the blanket statement of cores running 75% of the time is incorrect.
Its a visual glitch that happens in the eng version of the game. Whenever you use l or r to switch characters in the equipment screen some characters from the previous party members equipment will show up on the new members equipment. This happens both on official hardware and on emulator. No need to sling insults~

This was one of my absolute favorite runs of anything. You guys have such a good rapport. I was laughing out loud the whole time.
One of my childhood games on the SNES
Man this commentary is so chill and legendary I'm loving every bit of it
2022 more than 10 years and ancient cave is one of best things to have in a game
No
Sometimes the real jelly defeat is the friends we made along the way.
Bravo to you for reaching the slime after whatever that RNG was doing to you! Fun run and fun commentary.
I liked this run a lot. I caught it light and then watched a re-run that ESA had. Good run and great synergy between the hosts.

Very entertaining run - had a blast watching.
Its indeed a "miracle" run
This game was my childhood. Unfortunately, the battery in the cartridge has died, and right now, I am trying to find the right tools to fix it.
Yassss! My favorite game!
new game+ maybe, in this mode exp is x4, and strongest spell isn't zap, its thunder, equipping thunder ring, the power surpasses zap a lot
Run starts at 0:41
(If nobody cares about the character naming.)
Idea for combo run: Dekar Chronicles (Lufia II and Lufia IV)
How does the Deadly Rod compare to Fatal Pick?
Man that Dekar dude.. The OG Doom Guy.
Whole team goes down against sinistral Boss, Dekar beats him ALONE! WTH!?? HAHA
time stamp for Hydorarock?
What do you mean with the wrong deadly sword?

Could never finish this game. I got to the part to where they got married and had a kid or something. But this is a great rpg.
