- Desert Adventures in Arizona - I walk you around an old abandoned property that landowners said previously housed a mid to late 1800's Stage Coach Stop. I believe this Station to be a branch off the Butterfield line and served the Town of Silverbell and Mining Operations in the area. At the time, this area was part of the New Mexico Territory since the state of Arizona did not exist until 1912.

The closest documented site that I could find close to this area was called "Picacho Station"
Picacho village was the site of Picacho Station a stagecoach station of the 4th Division of the Butterfield Overland Mail from 1858 to 1861. Located in the village of Picacho, it was 6 miles west and north of Mesilla, New Mexico and 15 miles east of the Rough and Ready Station where the road passed through Picacho Pass then south to the station in the village. This station had the last natural water available on the route westward until Cooke's Spring 52 miles away, although the later intervening stations of Goodsight and Rough and Ready, hauled in water and constructed earthen tanks to catch what little rain water fell at their locations.
Beautiful and peaceful out there. Thankyou for sharing sir.
Thanks 😊 Diane
"I don't think I'll go in there" then you proceed to go in there. When you panned down the hall I'm thinking don't do it, Steve, don't do it! And you did it anyway. So glad you did! I love exploring abandoned paces. 💖
Yup I did it! Only for utube! 😆
Well you know I love abandoned stuff. There’s just something so intriguing about how a place was once inhabited and all of the sudden everyone just up and left. Leaving behind bits of the life that was once active there. Always makes me feel like it’s a waste of a space and buildings etc. Thanks for sharing.
Yes kinda sad there. Thanks for watching Felix.
What a great old piece of property. Those old stage coach areas are something. Crazy that there is still so much there from the stage coach and Floyd. Whoever buys it has a lot of stuff to get rid of. Man, so much stuff left behind. Floyd had a mountain of information about the area.
Yes Floyd was full of information about the history here. Thanks for watching!
Nice walk around the abandoned property and old stagecoach area Steve! Too bad it’s on a wash and no one can live there. Cool you seen an owl! 🦉 Looks like it wouldn’t be a bad piece or property once it was cleaned up. I wonder what those California owners will end up doing with this land?
We heard he wants to put in a a trailer park. He’s trying to purchase adjacent land but no one wants to sell.
Love looking at abandon properties. It's always so interesting to see what you can uncover.
Yes it is fun isn’t it! Thanks for watching!
@@DesertAdventuresinArizona Of course! Can't wait to see more!
What an interesting old abandoned place! I would love to poke around and explore that property!
Yes I love these old places!
Ah you're making me homesick. Great video and fascinating history Steve. Too bad that property is such a mess. I would love to buy some land out there one of these days. I use to poke around in the ruins of the old Silverbell ghost town before they completely destroyed it. I loved looking around the newer Silver Bell ghost town too. The bits and things you've found are really cool. Thanks for sharing. 😊❤👍🏻
Thanks Taupey!
Great place ,I will come to visit again thank you so much 👍
😊 Thank you
This site had no association with Butterfield's Overland Mail Company 1858-1861. You will note that the Wikipedia site link shown was 90% authored by me. He may be confusing the Picacho Stage Station in New Mexico with the Picacho Pass Stage station north of Tucson.
Thank you. Appreciate the correction. I wonder if this might have been a supply route to the Silverbell mine to the west of this site?
It was very interesting to learn the history 🤔 That big steel tank is original ? The house, if that was here it would have been all moldy and you'd need a mask inside 👍🏻 Tganks for the tour 😀 We hope you enjoy your week 😀 Mark and Michelle
Glad you enjoyed it! Thanks for watching! Steve
That is such a cool location!!
Yes it is huh! Thanks 😊
Cool stuff Steve 🤙🏼
Thanks Ray!
Very interesting. It is too bad it was abandoned like that. The clean up would not be fun. The potential for Rattlers and Scorpions underneath that stuff would freak me out. 😆 I is interesting and great that you knew the history of the place. Take care. Leaving soon for the meet up.
Thanks Ann - Have fun!
Cool finds!
Thanks G!
Great video this hitory
Thanks so much!
We're is that located?? I'd love to see it!
It’s all been knocked down by the new owner. Glad I was able to record it before he had it cleared. - 12100 West Silverbell Rd
Time to clean up!!!!
The new owner has done just that. It’s pretty much cleared out now
Worth alot of money if theres water under it
It has an old water well that was put in way back in the day.
