No surprise it's made your top 5 for early season. The wing buds make it stand out. Besides using goose boots I also use fluorescent acrylic paint and paint the wing buds on. The UV resin coating keeps everything intact and saves time if you're tying a batch.
Hi Lindsay, I think this pattern is from the late Dave Barker. Dave was an exceptional fly fisherman and caught the record Grafham rainbow which will be on view at the Grafham Lodge once this CV 19 is kicked into touch.
Thats exactly right Rodger, one of my good pals shared a boat with him in an AMFC match. He got his arse handed to him and Dave gave him the fly which then came to me.
Just thought I would check out this buzzer after your live session today ..... if you didn't cut the quill until you had wound the body you wouldn't need a hackle plier or finger tip control!! Atb Jim
Lovely tying Lindsey 👌🏻 really enjoying your patterns . Can you tell me where you can get the solarez bone dry from ? Only seems available in the US. Kind regards , Mark .
Hi Lindsay, This is a really urgent enquiry. Is the Barker buzzer similiar to the Grey Boy buzzers ? Or are they the same names ?Using the laws of averages and your experiences / opinions: Which one is more effective and why ? I'm grateful for your reply. Thank you kindly. Keep up the good work and many videos views you brilliantly present so well. Best Wishes. Tony
Hi Tony, The Greyboy Buzzer uses flexi floss as the rib. Both flies have a similar profile, my preference is this one only because I have used it for many years. I am sure others would sing the praises of the Greyboy, at the end of the day it comes down to confidence in the pattern. Why not tie both and see how you go?
@@lindsayiflyfish Hi Lindsay, please could you tell me what is the exact material you used for your Barker buzzer rib ???? Is it the flexi floss OR span flex ??? Which one ? And in what exact colour ? Thank you. I am surprised that you've been using your Barker buzzers the exact ones you tie as explicitly seen in your videos has given you a lot of success every time you go fly fishing. Is it at the banks reservoirs or boat out in the middle of reservoirs? I think BOTH Greyboy buzzers and your Barker buzzers do well because they are so similar that fuzzy trout wouldn't have to bother to choose which one, but eat both of them at any given time, Agree ?????
Thanks Lindsay, looking forward to trying this one. Couple of questions, what was the last resin you used (was it UV, do you use UV with this pattern); and how long do you generally leave between coats of varnish/resin? Thanks again James

It used to be the only buzzer I ever used.
Lovely buzzer Lindsay. Nicely tied and well explained. Many thanks for sharing.
No problem Danny tight lines.
Beautiful buzzer you tied. Thanks for the great tips on the wing buds. cheers
Thank you and you are most welcome.
Great Lindsay, I’ll certainly be tying these. Thanks 😊
You won't regret having a few of these in your box pal.

Nice tie that one dude. Thank you.
Welcome buddy
Nice one Lindsay!!!
Just done one in a very fidgety size 16.
Should work a treat of the small stillwaters.
Another great video. Cheers.
Top man many thanks.
Another awesome lesson thank you sir
Thanks Jimmy.
What's the best set up in spring on ur stocked lochs I have been watching ur buzzer tying
For me straight line buzzer fishing to get the depth. If you know the depth the bung can be very good.

What's the difference between a buzzer and a midge nymph ?is the buzzer for still water only?
A midge nymph is much smaller these buzzers are generally a fair size.

Hi James, I use the Solarez Bone Dry which is a UV resin. There is no waiting time as the resin is dried completely with the UV torch.
