As kids, he always made us feel loved. He genuinely loved all of the children he did his show for. For 30 minutes we learned how to show love, and compassion to others, and love ourselves. He was a great teacher. We learned so much from him. Just hearing his voice brings back the genuine love I felt for him as a child. He taught me so much. He was such a blessing for our generation. I wish his show was still on the air. I wish the kids today could experience, and love him the way we did.
He's one of the very few people who ever lived that you can't find anyone to ever say a bad word about him. The worst anyone could say about him was that he was impossible to interview, because he would just start talking and ask the reporter questions about his or her's own life, lol! 😂
Mr Rogers would seek out the helpers. Granted that did not fix hate filled people and this world, but he took steps. Did not sit down. I am so happy that my daughter was able to sit in his tv presence as he assured everyone that he likes them.
He premiered when segregation was still very much going on. People were openly pouring bleach into public pools so that black people couldn't use them. He lived in a hateful world too and he refused to be consumed by it.
💛💛 Mr. Rogers would be brokenhearted. This one made me cry thinking of what he'd see and hear. The fact that they showed it to those kids and they were invested... made me smile. This was a roller coaster of emotions for sure. We need a Mr. Rogers now more than ever.
Hi Jay. Another great video. I love your personality and perspective never change brother. I’m 61-year-old white boy who has lived in Southern California my whole life. I grew up watching Mr. Rogers and I believed he influenced me and positive ways. As a seven-year-old, I would go spend time with my nephew who is a toddler and would play with him all day, it made my nephews day and mine too. We definitely need people like Mr. Rogers to make a difference in our current world. I’m going to work on my part.
Though I lived most of my adult life away because I was a Coast Guard spouse for 22 yrs. I'm 55 yr old Southern California gringa, born and raised. Such a tremendously different place growing up in the 70's and 80's. Even during the 90's and earlier 2000's it still felt like home coming back to visit. I've been living back in SD for a few years now and it just doesn't feel like home anymore. It breaks my heart. Anyway, Mr. Rogers had a huge impact on my childhood as well. I don't think a single person from our generation in America would say he didn't have some sort of positive impact and isn't a beloved figure from their childhood. We were incredibly blessed to have someone like him. I think God broke the mold.
Please check out the documentary, I think you would enjoy it💛 That was 🥰 The answers to you questions is tough, I feel he wouldn't give up hope on society, I try my Best to be a good example, just as he taught me💛 Tag💛 Love this rabbit hole 💛 ✌️🍂💞
I was very upset when Mr Rogers passed away. We lost a Saint. It’s sad that so many people who grew up with Mr Rogers forgot everything he taught them.
Fred Rogers would in some way, be pissed at what is going on. Now, he wouldn't let it beat him, he would find a way to be constructive, to sort through his feelings and then he would use his show in a way to make the world a better place. Mr. Rogers was all about bringing people together. Not tearing each other apart. I hate that we are so divided. I have no idea how to change it. Because I won't change who I am just because someone doesn't like me being myself. I grew up in the 80's. It was nearly impossible to survive being open and honest with who you are. You didn't have access to community and resources the way you do today. I don't have a problem if conservatives have a different perspective than I do about how to best fund a school or build bridges, damns, overpasses and highways. We can have constructive debates about it. When it comes to my right to live and be me, that is where I draw the line. Not just me, but anyone who would be treated that way. I said it before. We need a few million more like him in this world. We need far less bluey and baby shark and SpongeBob and more Mr. Rogers. Don't get me wrong, I want to encourage new ideas, I just want to get people to remember the ideas that Mr. Rogers had at the core of things. Kindness, empathy, forgiveness and friendship. As for the Documentary film, it is a much watch. I have it on DVD, it is incredible. I will advise this, have some tissues ready. You will need them. You will smile, you will have a couple of good chuckles, you will learn something and be inspired, and if you have a heart, you will cry. It absolutely should be mandatory for everyone to see this documentary film. From Kids to Grandparents.
He was a Christian minister that chose to go into television and make good television content for children. I absolutely loved Mr. Roger’s when I was a child. He made me feel so special and loved. He was the nicest man ever. His love for God shown through the tv and touched hearts with Gods love for the children. ❤❤❤❤❤😊 I used to watch him from about age 4-7. I was born in 1977 for reference.
I loved this kind man. Just hearing him brings tears to my eyes. We need him more than ever. I see so much lacking of empathy these days and lacking kindness and community all of which he encouraged.💛 thank you for shining a light on him , he was a once in a life time man. Rest in Peace
Mr. Rogers was our Bluey, basically. You felt seen, heard, loved, and important. My best friend & I watched Mr. Rogers after school...well past what would be considered age appropriate but we didn't care. He always had a way of healing your heart. I'm 50 now & I still instantly feel calm & settled when I hear him.
A reaction to the doc would be great. You’ve already seen some clips that are featured in it, but seeing how some people rejected him because of his kindness towards everyone was very sad. It’s very touching & by the end you should have tissues nearby 😭
I've emailed the Public Broadcasting Service and mentioned the idea of releasing the old recordings of Mr. Roger's Neighborhood in the form of reruns for the younger generation to see and learn. They told me they didn't have ownership of the recordings.
For whatever reason, anytime I mention what streaming service you can find his show, my comments get removed. Name is same as the "9th planet" in our solar system.
Mr Roger’s was a one in a billion human. I wish there was more of him. As a nation we need his kindness and caring more than ever. I watched 3 shows growing up that impacted me: Reading Rainbow, Sesame Street and of course … Mr. Roger’s Neighborhood. There’s a commencement speech he gave in the 90s where he ended with the show’s theme song and the whole graduating class sang it with him. If that doesn’t show the impact he had on our generation, I don’t know what will. th-cam.com/users/shorts67QPJ6ao7AQ?si=5Ngs0FmxeE7Z5ssn
💛 I just wish that there was an equivalent to the show now. There WAS a continuation of the show after Mr. Rogers' retirement, it was a CGI program called Daniel Tiger's Neighborhood. Daniel Tiger was one of the puppets from the original show, and he became the host of the new CGI show. It taught similar lessons to the live show but I don't think it really had the same impact or engagement that the original program did. I don't know if the new show is still running.
Mr. Rogers would be so heartbroken to know what our world has become in his absence. What we see and experience every day, these days, is so far removed from the world he wished us all to inherit. It says a great deal about how far off track we've gotten when the man who was a HERO to generations; and who's memory still lingers to this day; would be so disappointed in all of us.
The world today would break Fred Rogers heart even more deeply as it does my own. Unfortunately, technology has had a far more negative impact on society as a whole, than any good that's come from it. Of which I have zero doubt is deliberate. And the majority of people are still falling for the 100% pure theatre that is pol*i*tics (on a glo*ba*l scale). Of which technology has been used to terrifying effect to further it's purpose of dividing people more deeply, faster, and along more lines than ever before. I wish people could see these people for what they actually are... Actors on the worlds biggest stage, getting everyone to fight amongst themselves while they help pillage the world. We're ever so close to the edge of a cliff. I'm 55, not super old, but old enough I don't fear for myself, I've done a lot of living. My fear is for my children and grandson... Everyone younger.
I'm sorry. I didn't mean to hit the thumbs down, lol. I just wanted to say that I feel the same way. I'm almost 54. I'm scared for my son, my nephews, and niece. One of my nephews is in the Army right now.
@Ivory35 It's sad and scary how most people can't see it... So thoroughly manipulated and blinded. Every form of media and "entertainment" has been used in every civilization throughout history to influence what "the people" think and believe, it's nothing new to modern civilization. But modern technology has made it so much more terrifyingly effective.
Of all kids, Mr Rogers would have wanted to talk to the little girl in pink. He would have seen her body language and recognized her feelings and helped her learn to handle them.
I think Fred wanted people to tell the truth. Trump may be crass sometimes? But he tells the truth. That's why we elected him. I love Mr Rogers, he was a patriot too.
The Democrat politicians would had tried to cancel Mr. Rogers, if he was still alive today. Since he would had tried to tell them to stop the bullying and mean rederic.
Mr. Rogers was good at reading the room. I think with the Sexual orientation subject, he would have been more inclined to shield children from all aspects of adult relations, as kids just need to be kids and should only be learning about the world around them in an age appropriate manner. He would not have judged other adults regarding their domestic relationships. But there are certain things children don’t need to know, whichever any orientation may be concerning. We sure do need Mr. Rogers and we all need to take the responsibility to carry in his legacy of being kind, operating in love for everyone.

I think mr. Rogers would be deeply saddened to see how uncaring and hateful the world has becoms.

Fred Rogers would be very disappointed,...but he would be able to express it in the most respectful way.

I love your deep dive!!! My childhood
You are absolutely right
The documentary is amazing, you should check it out even if you don't do a reaction to it.

I even said that we need Mr. Rogers
When I was a kid and I would turn on to that channel of Mr Rogers, I would get creeped out. Now That I'm Older he still creeps me out.
Love your Mr. Roger's stuff!

I think the last little girl summed it up 💯💞❣️
You need to watch A Beautiful Day ln The Neighborhood. Tom Hanks plays Mr. ROGERS.
I think Mr. Rodgers would cry at the state of our world today💛

Mr Rogers would be so disappointed in you. Trump goes against most of what he taught.
That is an extremely DISGUSTING statement about Mr. Rogers! You ought to be ashamed of yourself, and to watch his show immediately.
Trump hasn't told the truth in his entire life. You're just too clueless to realize it.
The Democrat politicians would had tried to cancel Mr. Rogers, if he was still alive today. Since he would had tried to tell them to stop the bullying and mean rederic.
@@BriannaClark-dr5wd That’s cute, since Republicans have been actually trying to defund public television for the past 15 years. Wake up!
He’s say, “Trump 2024. Let’s Make America Great Again!” Like the rest of America. ❤❤
Nope. I’m not sure you understand Fred’s message. He was kind, forgiving, loving… all words that you would never hear regarding Trump.
