The colour scheme for the brushes reminded me of the colour scheme Texaco used for the brushes on their car washes in the late 1980s & early 1990s.

My thoughts exactly. In fact one of the Morrisons MFG petrol stations not far from me also installed a brand new M’Wash2 last week, bizarrely with red and black brushes which came across as a surprise. It replaced a vehicle damaged M’Start.

I have never seen a car wash in the open like that. Looks odd with out a roof and walls covering it. Like a tornado came through and blew them away.
