Great advice, especially going fishing with a professional like Guy. You learn so much more than Googling stuff on your phone. I try to go out with a guide at least twice a year if possible and I always learn something new. You also learn where to fish! They fish where the fish are! These pros ( I've gone with Guy a couple of times, years ago) forgot more than most of us will ever know regarding fly fishing. Kernville is awesome, the river is beautiful. Go to the fly shop there, ask the guys where to go and buy some flies while your there, it's worth it.
Great information. Thank you, Guy. Some fly shops love it when you bring beer. Dr. Pepper or Mountian Dew to share. What do the guys at Kern fly shop enjoy?
Excellent tips. Motivates me to go work on my loop knot. I can tie em...but not as effortlessly (muscle memory wise) as the triple surgeon's or the clinch. Winter weather = tie flies or practice knots.
I haven't visited you guys for a few years now. I'm ready to come up there and try again. Miss it. Tried to hook up with you for lower Kern this year but I guess it just never came together. Happy New Year and keep those great reports and info tips coming.

I appreciate you saying that.
Merry Christmas to the fly shop!
Same to you!

Please do! Thanks for watching!
Nice work Guy, you definitely put me and my son on the right patterns when we were up there end of October.
Glad to hear it!
Thanks guy, good job
You bet
Great info. Merry Christmas!
Same to you!
I tried casting for the first time today. I need more practice. Lol
I did catch a trout on a standard rod on Saturday though.
Practice makes perfect!
Thanks Again........ =)
You bet!
I’m in that knot category now….not because I don’t know how to tie one; because I’m at the age I have CSS…can’t see s*#* lol.
My eyes are getting there too!
