- He's a motivational speaker, author, radio DJ, former television host, and former politician.
As a motivational speaker, he uses the catch phrase "it's possible!" and teaches people to follow their dreams as he learned to do.
He was the host of The Les Brown Show.
He's Les Brown and here are his Top 10 Rules for Success.

1. #Believe in yourself
He was born with his twin brother, Wesley, in an abandoned building in a low-income section of Miami.
2. Amaze your customers
He was subsequently given up for adoption and adopted by Mamie Brown, a 38-year-old single woman who worked as a domestic assistant.
3. Take full responsibility for your life
He was declared "educably mentally retarded" while in grade school.
4. Stand up to yourself
Despite the self-esteem issues this created, he learned how to reach his full potential with the encouragement of his mother and assistance by a helpful teacher in high school.
5. Go All Out
He first decided to get into public radio and kept returning to the same radio station time and time again looking for a break.
6. Stay busy
Upon his termination from the radio station, he ran for election in the Ohio House of Representatives and won.
7. Give more than you are paid for
After leaving the Ohio state legislature, he decided to get into television and eventually ended up on PBS.
8. Someone's opinion is not your reality
He also formed Les Brown Enterprises in order to support his newest career as a motivational speaker.
9. You're different
In the late 1980s and early 1990s, he also won many local and national awards for excellence and he has an Emmy to his name.
10. Don't stop running towards your dream
In 1993, he began hosting a new talk show, The Les Brown Show, which began airing on September 6, 1993.

Rule #10 was most impactful for me today. I used to think that I couldn't share the powerful, positive beliefs that I have until I could prove myself financially successful. Hearing Les Brown say that he was on stage, encouraging others to pursue their dreams while he was broke AND still pursuing his dreams is incredibly inspiring! I shall continue on and I will succeed! Since I discovered Les on here myife has changed. I have always complained, stressed about not being able to make any extra money as a single parent. Thru listening to Les I have started something with the little I have. When I'm in doubt n fear creeping in, I listen to him. I'm daily encouraged n inspired. God bless n keep him. For me, motivational speeches are truly what keeps me going. I find it hard sometimes to push myself whether I am low on funds, rather just be in the background and yada. But I know my purpose is greater than that. My favorite rule is #1, BELIEVE IN YOURSELF!!! No matter how cliche this may be. I believe that you are your own biggest fan, and you can be your own biggest enemy. So in order to win you have got to be at the finish line rooting for yourself on this journey!

Opportunity is limitless and security has an inherent conditional glass ceiling if you allow it. Security is a word used institutionally to create boundaries. I now see that word not as a goal to achieve for my family. I strive to find opportunity. Security will keep you, opportunity will set you free.

What moved me was "dont stop running towards your dream " & " give more than what you are paid for " we get caught up in earning our bread butter after some time our dream starts fading away . Also the sentence says dont stop running which means preparing a mindset that an over night magic wont happen but if we keep chasing our dream the magic surely will happen.
