Open cut/ strip coal mining. Search for Bucyrus 8750. Not the largest ever, but one of the largest draglines operating. Powered by electricity rather than diesel.
I think it's disingenuous to rate it only as "good" because you can't turn this model into a flat bed trailer load. You need to spend 2X to 3X what Ros is charging to get that "flexibility"
Actually, there is more: The bucket isn't designed very well in terms of size and function and the pulleys don't work very well. So, "good" is a proper rating imo.
I dont see ROS making crane models much longer. Theres no way they will sell enough of the these to pay for the manufacturing of them let alone a profit. These could be so much better if they had put in the effort to make them more functional. Good review but poor model. Let conrad stick to the sennebogen cranes
This model I would consider a toy. If I'm going to spend my hard earned money on a model crane, I want it to be just like the real thing, great functionality, good detail, realistic, able to reconfigure it, break it down into loads like the real thing, etc. I'm not sure exactly what this one runs for, I havent really seen it for sale yet, but I'd say its atleast 300 bucks. I do like to reconfigure my cranes now and then in different configurations. I dont buy them and take them out of the box and put them directly in a case to only be stared at. Otherwise id just buy a photo of one and hang it up on the wall, doesnt take up as much space or cost as much...
@@cranedude07 What would be a good example of a new, $270, tracked,, 1/50 scale Conrad crane model? Answer: that Conrad model doesn't exist. You will spend 2X to 3X as much and up to get those features.
Many years ago when I was learning to operate a cable crane, a Bucyrus Erie 22B, the hardest thing was learning how to use a drag line bucket.
I love the music. its head bobbing
I live near the sennebogen manufacute in bogen

More functional? Then you want a toy to play with and make engine noises... not a model. I am pretty sure the box says this is not a toy.

spoilt by that bucket arrangement, just looks a little toy-like, still wouldn't mind one.
