In exchange, the USSR accepted Germany to re-unite and that about 400,000 soviet soldiers leave Eastern Europe. They did so, without shooting one single bullet, so that Germany, and Europe, leave in peace again. The USSR & Russia did their part of the deal...

In spring of 2022 me and my friends who all were pro-western finally understood that west wants this war because all companies leaving Russia betraied their workers, You don't do that if you don't want to throw people in Putin's hugs. Now my friends who for many years used to love Hollywood, work for western companies and dream about Europe and USA started to support Putin. That's what sanctions did.

    Some of the leaders of the USSR were ethnic Ukrainians. So it would be wrong to assume that Russia occupied Ukraine. Ukraine and Ukrainians historically were part of Russia and were equally involved in all historical processes.

    The nuclear warheads did not belong to Ukraine, they were USSR warheads deployed in Ukraine, as they were in Belarus and Kazakhstan. The launch codes were always in Moscow. The only reason the Ukrainians made an issue of returning the Warheads was because they wanted to be paid. Niether of the three countries wanted to spend to maintain a nuclear stockpile.

    Btw. It was the EU that said, Ukraine can't join and keep it's economic ties with Russia at the same time.
    The Russians had not problem with Ukraine joining the EU. They only don't wanted it to join NATO.
    And for a simple reason, because NATO would station short and middle range Nukes in Ukraine, and Russia wouldn't have enough advance warning time in case of an emergency, to make sure if its a false alarm (which happened multiple times on both sides during the Cold War) or an actual attack on them. You cant make a qualified decision in 3 minutes, if there is a nuklear attack or not.

After 6 months (!) new government in Tbilisi took her as minister of foreign and now she is president. The whole issue now in Georgia is law that goverment bring for NGO to public who is finansing which NGO...       @@timb350 They did not "choose". Russia lost the Cold War and became a de-facto colony of the west for almost 10 years. Those countries did not have any choice. If you have any significant foreign forces on your territory - you are occupied. NATO is not "protection", it's occupation. If you think those countries would be able to just exit NATO if they wanted to and not pay for weapons - they cant'.

For instance, during the Minsk II ceasefire agreement, US was supplying Ukraine with bigger ammunition. One small but important note.. right before Russia started amassing troops in Donbas, Ukraine was already doing the same and there are verifiable reports of several magnitude increase of artillery fire from the Ukrainian side days before invasion. All that to say, that there is a high chance Ukraine was amassing troops and conducting pre-invasion artillery strikes, to go into Donbas and Crimea. This isn't a surprise either, considering Ukraine was set on returning Crimea at that time. As V. Putin once said "If the fight is unavoidable, strike first".
