This looks like it has the potential to be a great machine, but I disagree with Mr Minelab's pitch about "building up a picture" or whatever about the target, adding a couple of hundred quid to the price. As ever, stick a sock over the screen, go audio-only and you'll still dig all the targets that sound good. There's your trust. What would be great when testing a new £1500+ machine like this would be to have someone alongside you with a decent, sub-£500 machine. Every target the Manticore gets, your buddy checks to see if he/she gets it too and whether it sounds as diggable. Also, you've previously mentioned the "done to death" myth and this vid confirms it; on this "done to death" site, there were plenty of targets and only one at significant depth.
Wow this is interesting. I gave up detecting 5 years ago, my last machine was a minelab exterra 70, very simple but worked great . I thought I would feel like a proper newbie watching this video but I could honestly identify all the signals by tone. Like lead, small, on surface, thin metal. just by listening to the machine. For example the rivet thing you doing i said, round and flat and that was correct, the silver coin I said iron or smal silver. And that was correct.
1920 was the last year of full silver mate. Great vid, enjoyed your opinion on it. That screen looks awesome and although it’s early days it seems pretty reliable.
That’s a very fair thing you done there, I think the manticore is a terrific detector and will be better than the Ctx that I currently own ( I’ve had the Ctx for around a decade now and bought it used for £800 ) but I’m with you on your vid, most people will not find any more than they will find with a equinox 800,900, or a legend which is a very underrated detector, I have one of those also and they are awesome. I think I will buy a 900 because the new processor and the updates have made it an incredible detector that I can afford and I like minelab stuff on the beach. Good vid 👏

We’re all so very lucky to be in the age of, if we like the sound of the beeps the machine makes we buy it. Just remember folks you’ve still got to walk over it to dig it. Great video as always sir 🍻
@@Addictedtobleeps I had a swing with the Manta at detectival, Impressive machine. It’s wonderful how we have all these stunning machines we can buy. However, I do think the Manta is £300 over priced. Best of luck to all out there, regardless of what you swing 🤞🏻🍻

It’s a megraphta spade mate Chris did a video on it last year but I’ve just checked the website but won’t load up,so not sure if the company is still going
looks a machine more complicated than I could put up with. After 2 years of learning (and still learning) the nox800, I think I will be sticking with it for a few more years yet. 👍

Seems to me like a case of too much information and a fear of being a screen watcher. I love my 800, just get out there detecting, listen to the tones and find stuff
Minute 5/6 looks like my Rowel spur from 2 PeakyFinders digs 2 years apart,same field 30/40 people each."a field is never done" FLO says 1600 / 1700 ok crack on watch the rest.🤓

Great video. Remember that the graph is just an ID plotter with delay and nothing else. It will not show the shape of the object unfortunately.

You can absolutely run it like that. It can be just tonal if you want. You can pretty much just run it like a potent 800 :)
