He was not the original singer of the song. He has sung the parts of both the female lead singer and the high-pitched chorus. He has added some vocalisation runs of his own in a couple of places and sung in a language he obviously does not speak (he misheard a lot of the words). That takes a lot of confidence!
Am a Tamilian .. and ended up listening to Martha version of this in Mumbai .. such a great Composition.. Loved the OG version .. and then this video of Sid came up like 7 months back or something.. Legit best cover ever .. people started calling me apasara Ali cuz I couldn’t stop Singing his version everywhere .. so powerful .. wish he does Adele cover of All I ask or To be loved .. Am sure he can do it .. thanks for this guys
I loved how you both listened to it in absolute silence. That atmosphere he had in his room while singing you were both thrown inside it and you both tend not to disturb that atmosphere! and that's the exact magic he created with his performance ❤️✨

Staying on the same pitch is the highest challenge for any singer..it requires tremendous concentration and efforts. Hats off to Sid Sriram for the wonderful performance. Thank you for reacting to this one otherwise i would have surely missed this video
This is one of the most beautiful song from India, Period. The song is in Marathi which is not Sid Sriram's native language. After this awesome performance, now time to react to original masterpiece th-cam.com/video/mW67u_hWiSo/w-d-xo.html&start_radio=1
As someone trained in Indian classical music, I think his training in this area over the years is where a lot of his skills come from. Classical songs are structured such that when you train you learn to be on pitch at all times. They also are split into three segments typically ( Pallavi, Anu palavi , Charanam) with you having to go back to the beginning (Pallavi) after you sing each segment. So you will transition between different notes, tunes & pitches while training. Am pretty sure that plays a huge role along with of course his gifted voice.
if you visit his own youtube channel.. he already done few english songs... maybe you can react to tht... and also, he's from california.. ya, of course.. now leaving in mylapore, india.
This is actually a marathi song, you should react to the original song once it was the breakout for ajay atul phenomenal music composers. The dance performance is brilliant !
This is first time I'm feeling I'm listening classical music laavani instead of raw folk laavani 🤣 Feel is very different. It's musically amazingly perfect but feels still something is missing. However He has great voice texture. Very beautiful.
Thanks to you guys..for reacting to this..because of this video...I found my new musical love..sid sriram...he's got amazing unique voice and a good hold on carnatic classical music with melody..I say this because if you know classical but dont have melody..it doesn't appeal much to music lovers like me...but if you got both..there's nothing like it..like Shankar Mahadevan I feel atleasts sid's guru ARR should introduce him to Bollywood...lets see how far he goes..I'm quite sure he will go long way..
The point of reaction videos is to actually help viewers appreciate the content better, and unlock new perspectives on content. And Rick & Korbin have done that so consistently. Super hard to do this consistently well. The criticism of some reaction videos - that there is no value added except the novelty of watching someone from a different country react - certainly doesn't hold good for you guys.
Singer is Tamilian Song is maharashtrian Viewers are foreigners Singer don’t know the marathi language but still sang n listeners don’t know the language still enjoyed the song incredible
Sid Sriram is Tamil bought up in SFO! It's amazing that he could sing in more than 6 languages! I would attribute it to probably the melody and musical characteristics that's inherent in Tamil! I'm saying this purely based on observations. Malayalis are basically Tamil! The other language speakers who make good melody singers are Bengalis.
One of the songs which made me (an Ilayaraja/Vidyasagar devotee) to fall for Ajay-Atul. And then they came up with Mahabharat song. I surrendered. Ajay-Atul are way more talented and original than Vishal-Shekar kind of ppl. Waiting for them to get a big Indian Historical Period movie
Loved how you guys listened to it in absolute silence. It means a lot of respect. Could you do a reaction on Shankar Mahadevan's Breathless? You'd be wow-ed
Hey guys, love the video! I have a suggestion for a future reaction since this was titled Acapella but it isn't indian nevertheless I guarantee that you'd love it's an oogie boogie song from nightmare before christmas by voiceplay given the time I thought it would be a perfect fit and I'd love to see your reaction to it and Geoff who is the insane bass of the group
