    Great breakdown of this type of setup, thanks Scooby

    Hey there just wanted to let you know that the stainless steel elbow you're installing at 5:10 is actually incorrect! The swiveling end of the jumper hose goes directly into the cox stainless steel swivel, then the 3/8" Stainless Steel High-Pressure Elbow you're holding goes onto the non-swiveling end of the jumper hose. You then install the Mosmatic T304 Stainless Steel ⅜” Female QD Coupler to the elbow and the setup is complete. This prevents the jumper hose cable sticking out so far and looks a lot cleaner.

    • @Autofreakgarage
      @Autofreakgarage  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, for this application I wanted the elbow on the cox reel connection to angle the hose back. For the position I wanted to jumper to sit, it worked out better this way for mine.
      I also had a second stainless elbow to use on the other end of the jumper that goes into the pump. I haven’t given an update on this yet, but I will show what I did in a future video.

      Thanks for pointing that out, and explaining, as I also thought it was bizarre adding a SS El to the to the Coxreel swivel. Looks kinda goofy.

    Why would you use the $100.00 mounting bracket, when you have a board between the studs? Could have mounted the reel right to the same board you mounted the bracket to.

    • @Autofreakgarage
      @Autofreakgarage  ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Cleaner look and this isn’t the permanent setup. This is a temp setup until the new garage. Walls will be sheet-rocked in the next one and wanted the bracket for that mostly.

    OG Sells nice products. I am really surprised they don't sell this as an auto retractable auto guide. I think a lot of people would like the upgrade.

    • @Autofreakgarage
      @Autofreakgarage  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I think if there was a nice retractable option, Matt would have found it. But to be honest, I prefer the manual crank. Allows you to wrap the hose neatly and less parts to fail in the future.

    Get an elbow for the active. They make a right angle bend for tight spaces.

    Why is that elbow fitting even needed at 5:15? Couldn't the hose screw right into the reel without it?

    • @Autofreakgarage
      @Autofreakgarage  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      It’s not needed, but I used to due to the angle I had the jumper hose at. The elbow released some of the tension. I have since removed it though on my new setup.

    I recently received my pressure washer. I built a very similar setup in my garage. Be careful to figure out some way to secure the pressure washer to the shelf. Mine went tumbling off during a car wash. It basically vibrates around on the shelf until it reaches the edge and then goes over. There doesn't seem to be anything designed in the unit for mounting. I ended up using a strap to run over it and around my shelf. Looks crappy but it works.

    • @Autofreakgarage

    • @Autofreakgarage

    It looks like you're just running water to the Active 2.0 from your outside water spigot. Do you have hard water? I'm debating whether to spend the money (and plumbing install cost) to run a water line to my garage and get the reverse osmosis tanks.

    • @Autofreakgarage
      @Autofreakgarage  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes right from the spigot. Our water isn’t too hard so I never had any issues with corrosion or water spotting. What you could do is get one of these amzn.to/3Zw74XU. Would be an easy solution to get some clean water right to the active without having to do a whole system.

    Based on the the reel being on the same all as the garage door, does the hose scrape against the metal framing of the garage door when you unwind it and go out the garage door? Or is there enough clearance so that isn't an issue?

    • @WorldwideBeagle
      @WorldwideBeagle ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Sorry Mr dudet, it has nothing to do with bursting. That is a standard diameter for a 3/8 ID 4000 psi quality pw hose. 5/8 OD. That gives you the most volume. Volume matters, not pressure. A lot of hacks on TH-cam try to sell and get commissions off pushing the teeny tiny 1/4" ID Uberflex or its Kermit Kousin. Cheap hose for cheap PWs. You will never see the 1/4 in noodle straw hoses sold in a real PW store, only Amazon or Fleabay.
