One comment! Spam deserves better than that. 6 weeks ago l went to the SPAM museum in Austin Minnesota. I bought a T-shirt and 3 piggy banks for my grandchildren. I know you mentioned it but really SPAM saved the world and millions of people. How during WW2 could you have fed all our soldiers. If an army marches on it’s stomach SPAM fed that army. I had my first SPAM that day. The number one seller in Hawaii! Portuguese SPAM!! I hate to say it but it was wonderful. On the weekends they have young people that help out. They call them SPAMbassadors.
Yeah, it's not so cheap any more. I have some friends here in Alaska that came from Hawaii and they were like, "holy cows, look how expensive it is." I guess now it's a treat for them when they do get to eat it, it's no longer a staple for them.
There is a story that when Dwight Eisenhower became President, he invited the President of Hormel to the Whitehouse. He said I would like to thank you for sending all that spam to the soldiers during the war.... but, did you have to send so much.

I am a self confessed Spamaholic, why can you not get different flavours of Spam in the UK? Do I need to move to Hawaii?

When I visited Hawaii I went to a restaurant. I saw on the menu”Hawaiian fried rice”. I thought that it was with pineapple. No, it was with SPAM!
