I happened to own this game by sheer luck. I was only like 7 years old, my mom barely spoke English, as was the case with everyone in my family at that time. No one would’ve known this game was good, yet I just so happened to own it and get to appreciate it the way I did. Sometimes you just gotta get lucky.
I easily put hundreds of hours into NBA Live 2005 and almost none of those hours were spent playing any games. The variety of dunks was so good that I used to control all of the members and only do dunks that they would do in real life. Like they had the perfect lob to reverse pump for Stevie Franchise and the behind the backboard between the legs dunks for Dwight or Amare
i must say kofi i am always extremely impressed n inspired by your passion for niche nerdy sports stuff its very heartwarming to see the care in which you conduct these pieces
NBA Live 2005 was THE basketball game I played. I played Live 2003 briefly on my GameCube but as soon as I got 2005, I never played another basketball game until I eventually got 2k13, but 2k13 couldn't scratch the itch the same way 2005 did. 2005 just had so many features overall, it blew me away when I was younger
Well, there has been 3-point shootouts in NBA Live since at least '99, but 2005 was the first time the entire All-Star Weekend was a seperate mode and not just the game in a Season/Franchise mode
hey Kofie, I'm loving content as per usual, but I noticed in your last couple of vids you've put this VHS filter on for the gameplay and talking segments. I think it's fine for retrospective content like the game itself, but I find that in the commentary sections it's a bit distracting and makes it hard to see (it bleeds into the green screen and the purple tint kinda clashes with your fresh outfits). One of my other favourite bball commentary channels, Synthetic Sports, does a similar VHS effect for their clips but with interactive date/time (usually referring to the date in the clip) without the purple filter which is a little easier on the eyes and maintains the same visual language. I wanted to give you some feedback as a supporter and as someone who struggles with VHS-style filters for clarity, and I wish you the best going forward.
duuuude, that mode blew me away as a gamer! it was so sick i often just let the AI dunk against each other and i would just be a spectator sipping my drink and eat snacks haha! glad i am not the only one who wanted to see what the computer can come up with! 😂
Man I went on a binge about two months ago playing a bunch of old basketball games from childhood and let me just say that they don't make games like that anymore lmao. Maybe I've just lost my touch for those games because sports games are so different today but man I was struggling. From getting my ass handed to me in NBA Ballers, to not even being able to do a dunk in the 05 dunk contest it was just a bad day overall lmao
I remember the commentators if a person did a basic dunk, one of them did it in the way of bingo was his name-o, but as basic was his name-o. That was so funny.

I got this game at like 9 😂 no idea how i got so lucky to own this, all the nba street games, and MVP baseball

Conquering my older cousins in the dunk contest was better than graduating.

All star weekend in games will never be this good. This is probably the only praise EA will ever get over 2K.
This game mode is the reason why I love basketball

Perfectly said. I like Synthetic Sports as well!

GOAT mode in video games of all time. Loved this game mode as a kid and loved facing my brother and our cousin.
Watching this tonight during my overnight kofie but I liked & commented for the algorithm!
We appreciate your grind!
I appreciate that!!
Live 05 is a classic I remember elementary school me and my boys would just play the dunk contest 😂

This was when i was a huge carmelo fan back then. I had it for GameCube
NBA Live 2004 changed my life, NBA Live 2005 improved it
The Suns were my go to on this game! When I first found out about Joe Johnson!
Kofie how do you not have 300k+ views on these gems? this can only mean one thing, there is no such thing as justice(?)

Great video. This man always has the best hats
the jordan rock-the-cradle dunk was the easiest automatic 50 ever lol. i loved this mode so much.
I need Kofie to do a deep dive on NBA Street Homecourt that game esp story mode deserves love man
I still remember buying this game from a Pawn shop, no dunk contest will ever come close
First time I ever played this game ended up with 27stitches and 3 staples in my head 😂😂 it was the last day of spring break 5th grade year
Goat game, got me into nba, kid me thought AI was the coolest man to walk this earth
(He is)
EA went so insane with NBA Live 05
There are some dunkers who can do twice eastbay in real life
The NYR jersey post-elimination is bold.
lost a bet
Kofie do you release these right after you edit them? I worry about your sleep schedule lmao
As a Seahawks fan, your hat is very offensive, sir.
Yo can you do the street vol 3 GameCube edition with Mario
06 was the better game, taking that to my grave.
Plus EA BIG was still a thing...
Found my copy of nfl street 2 and my ps2 I’m so happy
