Love this but my only question is what's the point of having black flame blade when you can't apply it to the winged scythe? Or is the winged scythe just for early game and you transition to a different weapon that can use BFB?
Wondering as well, but I'm thinking that is the case. I've seen others say that Blasphemous Blade is a solid end game weapon for this type of build as well.
For anyone who wants an even more offensive setup, equip a 2nd Scythe (potentially with Sacred ash of war) on your left hand and your L1 will melt everything. You will also build blood loss up 2x faster and still have access to angel's wings
This works well for dealing with mobs, I've gotten shitted on everytime I tried to use a big L1 combo on a boss though. Maybe I'm being too greedy with it though.
Have you considered using the Gargoyle's blackblade as a substitute for the godslayer greatsword? It's the greatsword you get from the Black Blade Kindred. It's special is a ranged slash which also applies black flame. It's quite decent.
@@SpaceCadetLaC Something that helps me a lot is casting my summons and starting the fight with a channeled rot breath attack, the summons distract the boss and its health will tick down steadily, so in tough fights you just gotta dodge long enough! (Hope that helps!)
@@SpaceCadetLaC there is a cheese for it however it takes quite a long time. You need to have black flame for this work. Basically what you have to do is attack him with black flame from the top of the stairs, summon torrent, run to the back of the church from the right side. Don't go inside the church cause his scream attack can still reach you and it takes longer for him to de-aggro. And take the right side cause it's wider so you won't have to worry about accidentally falling into the void. Hug the wall of the church and you should be fine. Throw the flame, run, wait for his health bar to leavel your screen, wait another minute just to be safe, repeat. It took me 40 minutes to finally kill him but I wasted some time by going inside the church and dying to his scream. It should take you about 20-30 minutes max depending on your faith level.
@@SpaceCadetLaC You can cheese him from inside the building, if you stand behind the second pillar on the left (I dunno about the right) his ranged attacks can't touch you so you can just attack him with any ranged attack, I personally did it with a Bow and Greatbow.

Do you know that the god slayer great sword has a second follow up attack with its special attack? Because I am noticing that you’re only doing its first initial attack and not pressing the left trigger a second time. In total the god slayer great sword has three attacks, The first two are automatic, One that lights the blade on fire and there’s a small amount of damage but still can be very substantial at high levels, and followed up by the first attack, and pressing the trigger again will initiate a second attack going from left to right. With 40 strength 40 text Arity and 40 faith you can easily one tap most players, and can get about 2500 damage. With 70 faith and 70 strength and 60 dexterity and the right talismans you can do 4000 damage to a player with all three hits landing. Passes are different story because some bosses take more or less damage depending on the resistances, but the lowest you’ll do is normally half your damage that, sometimes you could do triple that damage to certain bosses
Since I'm seeing lots of comments with people not understanding how weapon buffs interact with infusions here's a quick break down from a souls veteran, hopefully I help someone. You can't apply a weapon buff (from a spell or a grease) to any weapon that already has an elemental affinity applied to it. So the winged scythe in this case deals physical and holy damage, this means it can't be buffed at all. The weapon type has nothing to do with it, this applies to all weapons. A weapon must deal only physical damage to be able to apply buffs. You can actually still apply a unique ash of war to a weapon (for example Golden Vow) but when you apply it choose a physical infusion rather than Devine, this will allow you to apply a weapon buff whilst still being able to use the weapon art (obviously this is not possible with the Winged scythe as you can't change it). I actually do this for my Paladin build. Where I have applied the Golden Vow ash as a Quality infusion to my Claymore. This means I can still use the weapon art to buff me and my friends, whilst still being able to cast lightning blade spell on it. This is how weapon buffs/infusions have worked in all the souls games and I guess a lotta new people don't know. Shame that these TH-camrs aren't properly explaining the mechanics.
There is so much to do in this game! So many builds! I roll a new character almost every day just to try new stuff that Khrazegaming puts out! Well done Sir!
My guy. confessor only starts with 14 faith, I got the seal so idk what you're on about at like a minute in saying we can weild it. Then you go straight to the stormville castle lol
Thank you for confirming my suspicion that I can't cast black flame on "special" weapons. That any Ash is applied disables the incantation wasn't exactly what I was suspecting and rather unfortunate, but I suppose the damage over time and damage boost make up for that.
Not any Ash, it is specifically any affinity with a non-physical damage component so stuff like Magic, Fire etc. You can apply the weapon buffs (not just black flame) or grease on any Keen/Heavy/Standard/Quality affinity weapon. Also some very unique weapons are also not able to be buffed, that's on a per case basis but the fextralife wiki does note down that info.
First play through and I chose this build and just now happened to stumble on this video so this will help a lot. I was using pyro flames with the Winged Scythe didn’t know about some of these other buffs yet though. Great video
I actually ran this build using this tutorial a while ago and it was super fun. I enjoyed it a lot. The halo scythe you can get from the Clean Rot Knights in the Aeona Swamp (you have to farm this though) is an awesome ranged option. It's one of my favorites. I ran it with the Winged Scythe until late games with terrific results.
@khrazeGaming on the top of the map where the golden city is, there is a location with windmill if u kill the other apostel god there he will drop a twinbalde with amazing aoe and dmg blackflames and blackflames spell wich easily doing on bosses 3khp, should have considerd that as an alteritave then the vulcano area blade
I've been doing a lot of math today in preparation for coop with a friend, and prophet is actually a slightly better start for this build. You only need to invest 9 levels to be able to wield the winged scythe if you get the soreseal, and since it starts 3 levels lower than the confessor you'll be able to wield it and a brass shield at level 16, which seems absurd. You still are able to wear reasonable armor (≈2 less weight than vagabond) without having to spend any points on endurance.

Grave Scythe is one of my favorites. It's VERY easy to get at the start of the game as well. If you need a little help, head over to the Third Church of Marika and get the Sacred Blade to make the farming faster and easier. I like it for 2 reasons. 1). @RAIMUS whatever you use the most. I put most into faith until i hit 80, 50 vigor, around 30 for mind endurance and dex :)
Thanks, gotta try that
This works well for dealing with mobs, I've gotten shitted on everytime I tried to use a big L1 combo on a boss though. Maybe I'm being too greedy with it though.
@Mortynoh Faith and either Dex/Str
Have you considered using the Gargoyle's blackblade as a substitute for the godslayer greatsword? It's the greatsword you get from the Black Blade Kindred. It's special is a ranged slash which also applies black flame. It's quite decent.
I have no clue how I'm gonna kill that gargoyle I'm not terrible but damn that fight is difficult

Great video. just started playing and was following another noob walk through so I got up pretty quick but never knew I could do all this with my confessor. I’ve been wondering and this is exactly what I want to be able to do. I’m level 44 and haven’t even fought the first story boss yet. LOL. too much fun exploring.
It seems after testing, charging black flame increases the radius of the explosion aoe. Good for groups

Hey man, love this build. Well done.
Would be curious to see your stat total distribution in future videos.

What talismans do you prefer?
@@BouncingSquare1 erdtree +2 and dragon crest great shield talisman
@@BouncingSquare1 oh I think you ment damage wise? I just use the Alexander talismans for damage, it gives around 25-30% more weapon art damage
Joh do you know what sword hé is talking about al moste on the end hé say the range is further than the greate sword
There is so much to do in this game! So many builds! I roll a new character almost every day just to try new stuff that Khrazegaming puts out! Well done Sir!
Right?! I'm gonna be playing thru this game at least 3 times. So many builds to try out.
My guy. confessor only starts with 14 faith, I got the seal so idk what you're on about at like a minute in saying we can weild it.
Also some very unique weapons are also not able to be buffed, that's on a per case basis but the fextralife wiki does note down that info.
been trying to build this myself ever since i got the winged scythe, but i suck at builds so this should help with optimisating things
3:27 another simple metoded is you teleport to roundtable hold and give that book to prophet
Little Note : If you use the Grave scythe instad you can put the black Flame Blade on it so you have more attack power
What armor do you have equipped here? i love how it looks
Same question
Tell us what armor?
I only know one set that he was using.
Royal Remains Helm, Raptor's Black Feathers, Perceptor's Gloves, Perceptor's Trousers. Hope this helped.
This build looks amazing! A nice variant on the “magic go brr” and/or “colossal weapon lorge” trend. Any armor recommendations for early and mid-game?
Currently using the "Royal remains" armour and its holding up pretty well though I could also reccomend the twinned armour set!
Awesome I didn't know there's a greatsword for this build!
I'm already rocking a similar build, I use this scythe with uchigatana + bloodflame. The blackflame really synergizes with bleed build up!
Do you like dual wield those or do you switch between weapons?
@@roelfkromhout I switch between em and only Godslayer seal on my offhand. I use the uchi for bursting with unsheathe weapon art. The scythe for consistent damage and reach.

what should i focus points into? stack faith and vigor and a little into mind? anyone have a breakdown for that?
Grave Scythe is one of my favorites. It's VERY easy to get at the start of the game as well. If you need a little help, head over to the Third Church of Marika and get the Sacred Blade to make the farming faster and easier. I like it for 2 reasons. 1). It looks hella cool, and hits harder than any other scythe and 2). You can put your own flavor of Ashe of War on it. I personally like Phantom Slash as it feels thematic. Either way you have a lot of options and the Grave Scythe will carry you through NG 7+ with little difficulty.
Thank you so much for the video. I’ve been seeing other “early game faith build” guides that have you farming the cleanrot knights in Caelid and some incantations from 5 of the games main areas including the capital… real “early game” 🧐
Literally use your horse to get there and it is early game still
