    Since I'm a relatively new subscriber, just going through you're older videos. I must say, your phrasing is exquisite and so tasty. I can really hear all the chord changes in your solos with your note selection. I can tell I'm going to be "borrowing" a lot of your excellent licks. Thanks so much for you videos. 👍👍👍

    Hey Leonard. I just bought that same Ibanez AZ2204N in the same color but I live in Lisbon which is western Europe on the same latitude as New York City, so I'm pretty far away from the easternmost part of the US. I have 2 other AZ guitars and although I have Strats, Teles and Les Pauls which I love the AZ that you're holding looks great and is possibly the most versatile guitar I've ever tried. Keep on rockin'. Mike.

      @leonardgriffieblues5845  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks Mike. I’m envious. I haven’t been to Lisbon but when I was touring I played several cities in Europe and wished I could have stayed!
      And yes. Super versatile guitars suitable for a lot of styles.
      Take care and keep checking out the channel. 😊

      Thank you my friend. Yeah, this is a tough one to let go. I can’t keep them all but if I’m very lucky something else will sell first and I can talk myself into keeping the AZ. It really is a fine guitar.

      No lie. I am doing some research on if I want an AZ and filtered this month and you were at top of list. Right into playing clean. Fantastic tone. Not my bag/style but yeah :) and wow :). Hi Leonard, Just discovered your channel and will check it out for this looks strait-forward interesting & great playing ! I'm retired but play since I was 15 and recently picked up my (dust covered) guitars again. Have a Made in Japan '85 Strat - G&L Legacy Indonesian Strat - Vintage VSA-590TS type ES335 and a few others. Plug into a '80s Marshall Solid State Stereo Chorus 8240. A bit fed up with the sound I get with the Amp and the Fender MIJ never sounded as a Strat. So in for some new gear. I Like the sound of this Ibanez - but what Amp do you use ? Any advise on a mod for the MIJ Strat regarding pick ups ? Cheers from France. Filip

      @leonardgriffieblues5845  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks Filip. I’m using a Fender Tone Master Deluxe Reverb. It does the blackface Fender thing extremely well and for recording, honestly I couldn’t mic up a tube Deluxe Reverb and make it sound any better. I find it an ideal platform for guitar demos.

    You are a very authentic artist. Please help me. Which one would you choose for your taste to play the blues? This one or the AZS2209 model?

    • @leonardgriffieblues5845
      @leonardgriffieblues5845  8 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Well, the obvious caveat is in your question: “for my taste”. These are both nice playing, good sounding, well crafted guitars, and the choice between them is very much like the choice between a Strat and a Tele. For me, I’ve owned a number of Teles and Tele style guitars and I like them a lot, but I never seem to keep them. I tend to gravitate toward the Strat style. So for me, the AZ2204N was just a little better fit, and I enjoyed it just a little more. I loved the variety of sounds. But keep in mind, another player with equal experience is just as likely to choose the 2209. I know that’s not definitive, but it’s always going to just be preference.
      I hope this helps and thanks so much for watching.

      Thank you.
      I’m fine with the tort guard, and it’s the same on all three of the original colors. There is a new color out though (mostly preorder at the moment). It’s called mint which looks a bit like a pale surf green, with a guard that looks like Fender’s mint green (in photos of course).

    That's a great sounding guitar, but a little pricey for me. At that price I could get the Silver Sky SE. Your playing though, is fabulous Sir!

    • @leonardgriffieblues5845
      @leonardgriffieblues5845  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thank you. Yes, these, like all Ibanez Prestige models, do cost. You could buy 2 SE Silver Skys or a used USA Silver Sky even. But it is a very different beast so it just depends what you’re after.
