I made my own planner so I will need to set it up for seven periods. I also print and laminate signs or phrases I want in my classroom. I also set up my Weekly Agenda slides for the quarter!!
1. Create new library labels 2. Set up digital lesson planner and digital notebooks on my iPad 3. Create slides for lessons for the first units in all subjects 4. Map out year 5. I bought some child board games (Candy Land, Connect 4, Chutes and Ladders) and I want to turn them into learning centers.
I started making student lists with their names to check off assignments. I want to make birthday certificates. I’m purchasing more bday supplies to replenish what was used. I bought a smaller toolbox so I want to make the labels for it. I’m slowly getting center work and fast finisher worksheets ready by printing masters at home. I’m reboxing puzzles using scrapbook bins. I’m jotting down important district event dates on my new and simple teacher planner. I’m laminating new materials. I’m also trying to get the first two weeks of school planned with games and SEL activities. Lastly, I’m rearranging my small office. So, yeah. Keeping myself busy. I go back at the end of August but we all know things pile up and creep up on us so quickly! 😅
I am so glad you are setting those boundaries. I feel the same way. Staying out as long as possible and enjoying my summer. The work will come soon enough! :) I guess it helps that we can't access the building until August because of renovaions...lol. Enjoy what's left of summer!! 💖💖
I'm a sped resource teacher and so there's a lot that I don't know until I actually get back to school and get my schedule. I tend to do my PD over the summer and I set up my digital planner and paper planner for the year. I have already done my work day and set up my classroom. I do have more to do but I could teach tomorrow if I needed to.
I move in to my new teacher planner. Preparing mounthly spreadsheets and colourcode in the yearly overwiew. I use a lot of stickers and I know I will be so happy to see all happy spreadsheets when I turn pages during the schoolyear 😃
So haven't started too many projects yet. I do sit down and work on making decor items occasionally. 1 thing I am doing though is we have access now to all those required videos you have to take at the beginning of the year (bloodborne pathogens etc.) So instead of waiting till school starts I'm doing 1 of those a week.It's a lot less dull doing 20 minutes once a week then like 2 hours at the start of school
I try to do some things every few days such as 1. New labels for some bins 2. New schedule cards 3. Bulletin Board letters cut with my Cricut 4. Organize my TPT purchases into files I read for enjoyment everyday and also throw in some reads for my professional development. Currently I’m reading Best Practices at Tier 1 and Loyally, Luke by Pepper Basham. Just taking my days to recharge because I will be teaching summer school the next two weeks and then I’m off for a week and then BTS!
Focus on looking at SEL lessons using picture books and create a monthly focus. I use the SEL picture books moving mountains resource and sel trait bulletin board. Both from Tpt. Each wek I do Around the sbject in 180 days to look at topics and themes. Pluse I work a part time(summer full-time job). Alicia from CT
I’m working on printing mini anchor charts through Canva, labeling things, printing more task cards and setting up my planner. Less than two weeks to go! 😮
I’m turning the Wonders picture vocab cards into PowerPoint slides. I copy and pasted the teacher talk and partner talk from the back into the notes portion of the slides.
I started first with the organization of my office and computer files. Now, I am working on new labeling. PLUS, I am also taking Master's classes too. 😅
I don’t tend to do a lot honestly. Walking into year 18 so I don’t really need to do a lot. I’ve gotten my new planner together so only thing left is to download an online program we use. Otherwise, not much to do until I go back!!!
I live in a very hot area of California so every year I buy each student a water bottle to use throughout the school year. I wash each one and then put student numbers on them.
