Great ideas, thank you! What ideas would you have to keep the water cool during the summer? It's been a scorcher in South Florida this year. It's almost impossible to keep the water lines cool even with insulation on the outside. Thank you 🌻
@@LadyMaryanne hi Lady :) We use a 3.5gph circulation pump (~$30 ON amazon or on the USQuail.com supply store) in the winter as part of our freeze resistant winter watering system. Our main water reservoir is a repurposed cooler with the pump inside the cooler to maintain prime. I would assume you could do something similar and find a good solid square container like a widemouth grapefruit container and have 3-4 of these rotating through the freezer or even some gel packs. Put two ice blocks containers in the cooler and put the pump on a timer that circulates for a few mins each hour and when those thaw, replace them with 2 new blocks and refreeze the melted ones. Just know, water expands when it freezes, so don't fill the container up all the way and use something that is large enough and square so you don't Crack the plastic at the bottleneck. You may be able to get 2-3 days out of each ice brick or just throw ice in there and let it melt. The reusable option saves water. We keep these blocks in our chest freezer for when the power goes out... it helps keep things frozen until the power comes back on. You can search our channel for freeze resistant winter water keywords and see how we make these for our customers.
Hi @@tullyriverquail, thank you so very much for your detailed explanation. I will search your channel as suggested. I agree, I think it will work. I appreciate you taking the time to respond. Blessings 🕊️
@LadyMaryanne Hi LadyMaryAnne... your story/our soultion would be a great one to share on the USQuailCoop.com quail breeder directory platform. Members can create a profile listing as a "starter, Grower, or breeder" to sell quail and quail eggs, or as a patron to buy quail and shop at the USQuail doscounted Supply store. It's more than just a directory... its a quail growers ecosystem. A platform to grow a business, write and publish articles, start and grow a podcast, print business cards and make promotional items, host your website and either your own professional email @MaryAnnesQuailRanch.com or get an @QuailMail.US account... we even have tools to log incubator hatches or share a "covey calculator" with customers so they can estimate how many quail they want based on the # of eggs they desire/day. Lots more! We are working hard to launch the directory but you can visit USQuail.com to learn more about the initiative. We want every community growing their own food ASAP to protect our families from the upcoming turmoil we are threatened with. I will start doing daily 8 am podcasts on SoundCloud and on the USQuailCoop TH-cam channel, and we will be inviting other members to do live shows in effort to create our envisioned "QuailTV" programming. You font happen to know any computer programmers do you? :) my older brain is getting slower by the day it seems, but trudge along we must. If you have any questions, you can reach out to us via the USQuail website or you can pre-register as a Co-op member by clicking the Join Us button and we will notify you as soon as we have the doors of the coop open. Hi! Thanks again for the recommendations and great info. Due to health reasons I had to pause my quail adventure. Nonetheless, as soon as I get better and the weather cools I'm hoping to kick back into action. I will be researching all that you pointed out. Blessings to you and your family 🌸🕊️
@LadyMaryanne we just opened the USQuail Cooperative store at Store.USQuail.com . Great holiday gifts, books, and anything you could need to grow your Quail business. Best wishes & get better more faster. I got histoplasmosis from cleaning the bobwhite recall pan last year... I was sick for 3+ months with a fungal lung infection. The wife thought I was a goner. The USQuailCoop.com should also be open for registration in 2 weeks... you can earn cash from the affiliate program just by adding links to your Quail comments. Might be a nice revenue stream while you recover. Stay Free
