I am also living with FH. My grandparents were scared of me living as an amputee and the thought of having to undergo so many surgeries for limb lengthening was daunting. I had the third option that involved stunting the growth of my left leg (“the good leg, as my grandparents would say,”) so the right one would catch up. Unfortunately, that was successful and I live with plenty of chronic symptoms now as an adult like arthritis, tendinitis, scoliosis, chronic pain back, leg, hip pain and inflammation…mostly to my right (fused) ankle.
