The Grammy is a ritual. Something to think about is, the Christian song category is the only chance to win a Grammy and stay yourself. If you are not in it with them, you can be as great of a talent as the legends, you will never make it. If you check what is being pushed as music you will understand. A lot of people refuse to believe this and say conspiracy. I say it's right in our faces. Angelina should be on top of the world by now, why not? Because she wants to inspire people the way she wants to do it, not the industry.

Angelina stated that she had tears running down her face the entire take when she did the studio version of million miles. With her being a jazz singer she frequently drops consonants and sometimes hums a word so the only way one would ever know (unless it was very obvious) would be to ask her. I have never seen an error effect the rest of a song or the rest of the set---she goes through it and carries on as if it was intended. I find this to be one of her many remarkable traits. I must repeat----her imperfections are perfect. Good observation though. It would be interesting to sit down and talk to her about this subject..
I understand what you heard and what it made you feel but I truly believe what you listened to was the element of jazz she incorporated into the song and cutting words short is a style which is very typical. I say this because there were instances when she was very emotional singing a song and yet she held it together and sang beautifully even though she was deep in thought. And, perhaps you were right. Either way, what an absolutely stunning performance!
As far as I know, never has she been more emotional than when she performed the songs dedicated to her grandpas, "Always On My Mind" and "Million Miles". Despite this, both were sung absolutely beautifully, although she finally broke at the very end of the former. And although she said that it was very difficult for her and that she was actually crying in the booth during the studio version of Million Miles, she did it flawlessly. Her level of professionalism has been extremely high from very early and her focus is phenomenal. One wonderful example was when she was singing "La Bohème" to tiny Juliette. Despite Juliette playing with her hair and her ears and generally being an adorable nuisance, not once, even though she was still extremely young, did Angelina miss the phrasing, pitch or timing in that rather complex song.
@@patrickchauharjasingh7164 Yes, very true. She goes into that special world she has mentioned and is able to convey her emotions to us through song and we feel every bit of it. Her inner strength is fantastic. Even on occasion when she has a cold she performs right through it and even if she is unable to mask the illness she will never let on she is sick. And she still sounds great and as soulful as ever .

I agree with you about the emotions. I was in the audience. Not only does this song have special meaning for her, it was also the closing song for the show, bittersweet for AJ. She bonds emotionally with her Angels throughout the evening. Hope that never changes. Another great reaction.
Nice reaction. It does seem she was "born to sing", as one of the Norway's Got Talent judges indicated after her very first audition, when she wasn't even 8 years old yet. And as was stated in the chat during your premiere, her mom Sara was singing softly in the background in that AJ-at-1 1/2 video. My guess is her mom was a Whitney Houston fan AND was expressing her love for her child ❤.

Tne original by Dolly parton twice hit the top of the country billboard charts . Elvis presley wanted to record it , but Dolly said no to manager Tom parker who as usual probably wanted a writing credit for Elvis . The Whitney houston version was a world wide hit , earning Dolly millions .❤
Maria, I think the primary catalyst is the upbringing and exposure. From the time she was a baby, Angelina's was exposed to legendary classic music, especially by her grandmother. When she was 2 years old, she was on the iPad finding TH-cam videos of songs that she liked and she was always gravitating toward the classic jazz even at that age. I think the fact that her family provided that environment, certainly inspired her to head in the direction she has. The other intangible is genetics, ability, aptitude, and ability to develop the skills. I'm not sure what else it can be other than divine intervention!
By the way, she performed this at one and a half in the video you saw above. She performed it I believe in her living room when she was about 11, and that is the last time I saw her perform it. So it is not something she's done many many times unless it is private.
Ron: I doubt she was on TH-cam at 1 1/2....even Angelina wasn't that precocious... Where she is singing at 18 months she is singing along with her mother Sara... I would think she was at least 3 before she started searching TH-cam for the jazz greats ! :)
Geoffrey, Go back and read what I wrote again. I think you missed something. What I said is that they showed her singing at age one and a half in this video but that she sang in her living room at approximately age 11. I remember that recording.
@geoffreynorth9046 wow, "angels" even correct each other even.when some (you) are correct. Why would you have had to go reread?? She either "sang" this at 18 with or without Sara, or she didn't. Personally, I think anyone.obsessed enough to think she "sang".at that age, to bring it forth into discussion, and was better than.any other toddler trying to sing,is.good, needs to look at themselves before they correct others. AJ does do this nicely, in the present!

Her mother had the radio playing 24/7 on the kitchen counter and Whitney Houston would play I will always love you like on the hour. Angelina would be in her baby cradle thing on the counter listening to the radio? She couldn't even speak Norwegian at the time but she imitated the English speaking singers from the radio to perfection at one and a half. You may be correct, but more likely she is using her “jazz” influences where words are left hanging. If you go back to some of her very jazzy performances she does that many times throughout a song. Ella Fitzgerald is famous for using this technique
