I'd recommend trying the pomodoro technique in regards to distraction free work. There are many apps out there for it. Also, 2 hours is incredibly difficult to do consistently. I'd recommend starting small with something you can do everyday even if it's undistracted focus for 5 minutes or even smaller if that's too difficult. Once things get easy, slowly progress to more and more time and eventually you'll be able to focus for hours on end.

I never would have gotten my books written and published if I had not used a timer. I use it today. No matter what the task. When I’m feeling distracted or unmotivated, I set my timer for 1 hour and promise myself I can stop when I finish. 99% of the time, I end up restarting the timer for at least one more hour.

I'm going to try doing 2 hours of deep work every day. I'll have to do it in the early morning when the phone isn't ringing, but he is right. This would probably be a game changer.

Maybe you can make a video series with "best productivity methods for [INSERT PERSONALITY TYPE]. People are motivated by different things i.e. creativity, structure, decisiveness or team harmony. I've noticed not all productivity techniques fit my personality, i.e. detailed planning is a huge energy drain to me whilst task setting and (timed) challenges give me energy.
Would be nice to see a video series connecting the two

As much as this video transcribes general motifs, personal goals and the like, it misses the core philosophical and societal understandings of how one/many may apply themselves. Under the definition of 'work' being of meaningful value, there's no reference to what work, or value, entails.
Must one be efficient in order to the productive, one must be productive in order to be efficient? Without there being a solid definition as to terminology, it doesn't really mean much

    • @christopherjones9547

On one hand, I think you handily summed up a major problem with 99% of self-improvement media.
On the other, 'meaningful work' means something different to everyone.
Thoughtful and interest comment you made, thanks.

The shift in the voice is annoying. Like two voicelines mixed up. One monotonous and one normal.
