I think we lack the intensity we used to have under Woolfe - no line speed, no kick chase, don't attack the defensive line enough, slow rucks and poor kicking game - and we keep getting found out against the other top 6 teams
Very balanced review of the game, as a Salford fan for what it’s worth I don’t think Saints played with enough intensity today, it happened a few years ago when we won easily at the AJ Bell but the playoff game at Saints was totally different played with a level of aggression that Salford couldn’t handle. I wouldn’t panic if I was a saints fan.
We need to accept we are not good enough, can make all the excuses in the world, we have been misfiring with a near full strength team, so the injury excuse is a non starter for me. Some big decisions needed in the next few months....wellens being one of them. I'm not hating, i don't slag players off every week on fan pages, it's the first time i've commented. We need to stop deluding ourselves, we'll see how far behind we are when we play wigan in a couple of weeks....
There’s no really difference from last season were just not consistent enough.Even with a full squad of fit players were behind Wigan.we’d have been as well resigning Swift .Pace wise we are probably the worst in the competition.Worrying thing is we’re skint as well 😐
Just weren’t good enough today! First 15 minutes we seemed to have decent amount of the ball but after that it was one up down the middle and at times looked clueless.
Shocking today Saints. We need wingers badly...we were bare on the flanks for a couple of the Salford tries. We did miss Tommy today and we miss several others but it's no excuse for today's performance. When will Tee get a run out? Lots of superlatives are dished out on Jonny Vaughan....Will he get a run out. I'm one pissed off Saints supporter tonight.
"THE HEAT." Of course, the Saints players didn't have the air-conditioning kits that Salford was wearing. But Saints did have 90%+ of the Jumping Jack Adams decisions.
He did but he needs to cut out those stupid late hits that give away a penalty. The game is hard enough on baking hot days like today so to gift a team easy metres up the field is criminal.
OK just watched and posted on redvee Pretty good analysis. Fair play when you already recorded one 😅 couldn't tell it was the second take My thoughts Wellens isn't evolving, i also agree with what everyone can see with the coaching setup. Very little is said between them all. It's like the coaching staff send them all out with the exact same gameplay against every team and then have no input during. You made a great point about substitutions. Idiotic. Get Davies on for Konrad so Konrad can come back on and give some impact. I feel sorry for players like Sione, and if he is leaving, coaching could be a reason. I was hoping things were starting to improve.. but for me this current coaching setup won't isn't going to improve Salford with some brilliant tries. Sneyd Kick was just so good. Last tries hands/passes from Salford was great. It's like they practice to attack and we don't. Against a lesser team it's not as obvious but we have been exposed so many times this year. Salford deserve to be up there competing with the big boys so no shame to lose to them, they have a better coach 🤷♂️
Where are you? What are those blue lines? It would be good to do a 360 degree slow pan now and again to set the scene. Looks like you at the backend of the stadium or at its garbage collection point. Theres a cruel joke in there somewhere but at the end of the day, its good for SL, that when a top team like Saints are a bit off, that teams like Salford have the measure of them. Then come the playoffs, high quality intense RL is required from the 1st round to progress...
It says a lot how poor the league is that this Saints' side is still 2nd... They're lightyears behind Wigan (when they're full strength). Poorly coached, slow, boring, no creativity, defensively weak in the ruck, desparation in covering mistakes... 2015-17 all over again. Awful to watch, and when the post season ramps up the quality, this lot will be knocked out straight away.
It's true. If you can be solid in defence. A lot of teams have better attack. Yet somehow saints are still up there due to the fact that we have players still working their arses off. Its a disaster waiting to happen as far as players becoming unhappy at Saints
Great win for Salford !,,saints missing top half backs Dodd is average!,,hurrell must of been made up Lafai didn’t play ,,hurrell got cement in his boots!,,proud Salford fan!,,good game guys good luck going forward👍
Poor performance and poor coaching, Davies and Royle on bench not ideal but doesn’t rotate wisely. Lomax, Al, Knowles, Makinson, Batch, Whitley play and we win easily
Camera pans to Wellens and there 5 with him this week... 😂 note books in hand, hangers on all the time with this club. Hurrell overweight and a defensive liability, took 50mins to notice Dodd was on the field, a lot being asked of young props, wingers poor, bench full of deadwood, see ya next week lads
Need to be realistic and admit Salford were the better team and had more crucial players out injured than Saints who will probably still finish in top 2 and get to Grand Final...can't have the top club going into meltdown like they do in the footy Premier league when they lose..Got beat , Move on👊👊
Has more crucial players out really ? Since when does having Ur starting winger makinson starting loose Knowles starting prop walmsley Ur stand off and captain Lomax and make up the rest of whitely batcehelor who would be in Ur 17 not important. Sorry to also add Jake wingfield to the list of casualties. Yeah Salford U did deserve it today but in terms of more crucial injuries. A little ignorant

Totally agree with you.
Will Lewis Murphy be available for next season? I would keep tabs on him and Will Pryce for pace alone.

Good job Laffi got injured in warm up he would have given Connie hell, thing's can only get better,
Shocking today Saints.

Just my own humble opinion I would like to see Tee get a game or three and see what he can do
Definitely something that needs addressing how weak we are on outside and lack of pace. Who’s gonna take over from makinson??😬🤷♂️
"THE HEAT." Of course, the Saints players didn't have the air-conditioning kits that Salford was wearing.

Thanks for listening for the first 38 seconds. It still counts as a view 😁
Everytime wellens and his coaching staff are shown on the tv they are just sitting there staring into space.
On a positive note…I thought matautia had a really good game.
He did but he needs to cut out those stupid late hits that give away a penalty.
The game is hard enough on baking hot days like today so to gift a team easy metres up the field is criminal.
but he is leaving according to all rumours

Got to go Lomax and mbye in the halves I’m afraid Dodd offers nothing his kicks on our last tackle are as good as just passing them the ball

Saints looked tired and lethargic, holding down way too long etc.
games like this show that Wellens should not be our coach. No idea in attack and his insistence on playing Bennison defies belief.
Oh id rather be a Devil than a saint

Come on lads, the background of the rubbish being taken out was a bit OTT. Yes, you have some work and some rebuilding to do, but it's not that bad.
Poor performance and poor coaching, Davies and Royle on bench not ideal but doesn’t rotate wisely. Lomax, Al, Knowles, Makinson, Batch, Whitley play and we win easily
That’s the last 2 games where we’ve let the opposition march 90+ metres to score in the last 5 minutes.. Not great..
Camera pans to Wellens and there 5 with him this week... 😂 note books in hand, hangers on all the time with this club.

I don't think Paul Wellens Is the right man To take this team forward
🤣🤣🤣

@matthewdootson2891 Lafai, Brieley, Cust, Olmanroyd..for Salford they're top players to be fair
Useless,we can be better, DISAPLANE
Stoke on Trent, paul
Nothing in the middle
