You had a lot of action today. I know the majority of the fish was small but that's the difference between a professional catfisher and a meat fisherman. I was looking at the fish you were catching and thinking what a fine stringer of catfish. Thanks for the video!
From Philadelphia.....I miss fishing... Just don't have the time to get out there anymore . Thank you for the videos. Nice to unwind at the end of a long day with such great videos. Keep them coming Dave.
Like Dave says, "You never know until you throw." I haven't heard a drum called a gaspergou in 40 years. In my opinion that was pretty cool. lol I'm glad you had mild weather. You had a good day catching whisker fish. No big ones but a doggone good day. Thank you, Dave. I can't fish like that anymore but I sure enjoy going with you.
I wonder does Dave have dialogue he's thought out beforehand? Even if not , surely he has certain points thought up that he plans on covering. If you're singing what your saying , you must be having a good day !!😂
Dave love your videos and I appreciate that you always give great information on catching catfish which is not always the case with other fishing videos Thanks Dave!
Dave jusst wanted to say I appreciated the video of the gear and set up, I fish up at lake Oahe in South Dakota Missouri river chain big water runs 100's of miles and deep. That said its walleye haven, so my rigs are set for that, but as a kid i cut my teeth on the Blue river cat fishing , it wasnt hard bringing home a stringer of channel cats small some up to 5 pounds or so. All winter ive watched you and there has to be some big cats in this river chain. It looks fun, to be honest i dont want to catch fish to eat anymore and those cats you show probably represent the largest fresh water fish in tbe US apart from a sturgeon or something, and yes their hooked once in a while here. But set up with line on reels 10 to 12 pound test would be a waste of time catching your fish, so i need a set up a few rods heavy and apparently braided line for hauling horses in, that would be fun, and I have one question tho, you ever have one of those horses horn you with those side stickers ?
Thankfully you release all your catfish. It helps preserverve the catfish population. So other people can have fun catching them, and releasing them. If someone wants a fish fry, just easier, cheaper, cleaner to go to Wal-Mart.
Have you ever used or considered dragging big spoons, from what I understand the world record, here in va. ,was got on a old school dr.spoon n this guy has caught other giants on them
I fish Wheeler Reservoir and I don't keep many to eat but when I do keep some to eat it's never over 5-7lbs max. Dave has stated before that he really doesn't eat fish much. I have watched all of his videos and I don't remember him ever taking any home. He has stated that in his area around Knoxville it's generally only safe to eat smaller cats due to an ash spill many years ago. My general rule of thumb is if they have any advisories about eating fish from a body of water, I either don't keep any or only smaller ones depending on the actual advisory. To be honest when you're talking about catfish (and most freshwater fish) the smaller ones are usually better eating anyway.
Hey Dave are you using the inline RED spread em planer board that is supposed to be for straight behind the boat? Just wondering if the inline red ones are worth it or needed?
I don't have any in line boards. The only use for one would be to suspend a bait and I am dragging mine across the bottom. If I'm dragging bottom straight behind boat I don't need a board attached to my line.

You caught the biggest fish for the day on the bait that didn't have a lot of hope in doing good. Ain't it the way, thanks again!
Dave love your videos and I appreciate that you always give great information on catching catfish which is not always the case with other fishing videos Thanks Dave!
Great video. Almost to 100k. Lets gooooo. Got 1 question. What is your water to salt ratio when you preserve your bait for later.
Here on the upper Mississippi River the head of a small drum is almost always a good bait. Good episode thanks.

Heck yeah Dave !
Can you eat the fish from those rivers in Tennessee?
Have you ever used or considered dragging big spoons, from what I understand the world record, here in va. ,was got on a old school dr.spoon n this guy has caught other giants on them
Are u going or have you been to The Catfish conference in Louisville Kentucky??
Great video. Dave.... can you give us your opinion on whether you think its safe to eat these smaller catfish out of the Tennesee river?
I fish Wheeler Reservoir and I don't keep many to eat but when I do keep some to eat it's never over 5-7lbs max.

Hey dave! When youre dragging! How do you know how much line needs to be out?
What was that in the sky in the background
I was thinking the same thing
What is in the sky behind catfish Dave
Do you ever have a fish fry or do you like to eat fish?
A shout out to Chasin' Cat for taking such good care of you Dave . :)
What the heck is a gaspar goo ????
Can you cut the Skipjack chunk in half, if it’s the size that makes the difference..and WTH is a Gasper Goo
What is the big float thing called that you take off after every catch. I know its some kind of marker ?!
Why do you cut the tails off of the fish?
Anybody notice the sky at the 7 minute mark? Kinda funky...probably a reasonable explanation.
Nevermind, must be something from the camera.
Oh it’s a reflection on the lens
100k Come on people !!!!
Calm water, hungry fish
Sometimes in Kanawha river blue gill is only Thang they will eat

I think you like saying Gaspargou
No wind
Is your trolling motor 12v?
