@@thyop89 Yes, and they are done on a shoestring, are hardly promoted and usually just disappear. We had one lucky Oscar season where a bunch of interesting movies came through and currently we are spoiled with Barbie (which as a movie is not yet a franchise) and Oppenheimer. i so agree with you, considering they made the 3 movies before about 9 years apart each, the last one came out in 2013, we are in 2018, so it takes about 2 to 3 years to make a movie... meaning they can start writing it right now ! ;-)
Before....Sunrise, Sunset, and Midnight. But.....what other daily solar event could they do? Oooh....how about Before Eclipse? It can take place in one day....the day last year when we had the total solar eclipse across the US. Whatever they call it...I'd love a new Before movie. Excellent series of films!
Ethan Hawke is known for his reading. He has great books all over the place, keeps an ebook too, but talks about when you put your total concentration into that author, the energy of a superb book stays with you, incorporates its ideas and philosophy into you forever. I was 11 when Dead Poets Society was released. It remains one of the most inspiring and emotionally moving films of my life, even now at 40 years old. Thoreau runs through my veins because of that film. I had the good fortune to meet Robin during my third tour in Afghanistan. He was so kind. I wonder how much of Ethan's kindness is thanks to Robin's smiling face. I love that Ethan appears to have not a negative thing to say about anyone. I love how humble and complimentary he is. You might not believe me, but it was his intelligence, his empathetic ability to express himself, and his fervor in explaining his characters, that found room in my heart, immediately after beauty, went into the background compared to talent.
Honestly “Good Kill” may be one of the most underrated and eye opening movies of his career and he really doesn’t even say much but the movie will have you really questioning things afterward. It’s one of those movies that somehow nobody saw or ever talks about but is too real in its subject matter and his performance is subtle but stellar if you guys are E hawks fans it is a must see I can’t believe nobody has made one comment about it

Oh my gosh, what an excellent interview talking about Mark Rylance; and the end, when Ethan made the point about “a good movie happens at the end when you’re walking out the theater...” such a good point. Also, did anyone else think that Ethan looked like Matthew Modine in the clip LSSC played of his new film? I thought so, a bit. Man, I love interviews like these. The storytelling just grips you. Highly respect that Hawke shreds the glits/glamour aspect of acting, and focuses on the craft. On being good. It must be difficult to keep that student mentality in such a ego-swelling occupation. He seems almost tormented by his desire to get better. Something I relate to and respect deeply. The fruits of his labor will pay off in new ways as he continues to grow. I have a feeling that Ethan Hawke will redefine his acting career really soon and will catapult himself to a new level. That kind of dedication doesn’t go unanswered.
First Reformed was pretty incredible. Undoubtedly Ethan Hawke's best career performance. I'll have to do a review or analysis of it one day to express how much I appreciate it.
I'm really impressed about how profound, intelligent and dedicated to his craft Ethan Hawke is. As someone who enjoy's the art of acting, it makes me want to sit down and pick his brain.

What a stellar guest to have. I really appreciate his humility and understanding of people and life.

Gives you chills. It was the same feeling I got when Stephen interviewed Ann Dowd a couple months ago.
Stephen tried a sloppy joke about enjoying others misery and Ethan just picked it up and hit a home run. 🙌🏻
Loved his story about Mark Rylance and acting.

Ethan Hawke is the man! 😎
Legend! 💪🏼🔥
I'm really impressed about how profound, intelligent and dedicated to his craft Ethan Hawke is. As someone who enjoy's the art of acting, it makes me want to sit down and pick his brain.
one of the best movies of the last 10 years. I watched it for a second time today and felt my initial love for the movie was reaffirmed.
I absolutely love Ethan Hawke , I think he’s a brilliant actor and he is so insightful . Yet, he’s so humble. This was an awesome interview!!!! 👍👍 can’t wait to see the movie !

Great guy, actor, thinker. Just went through the Before trilogy and the more interviews with him I watch the more I like him.
Ethan hawke is just such an engaging guest. I love that he seems to read a lot and has nemorised so many pieces of advice over the years.
