To your larger point. If one doesn't confront villainy now, the villain will, eventually, confront one. As a GM, if players avoid it...I eventually put the villain in a place they cannot avoid. It eventually permeates their fantasy world. I hope you are well. Great video. Hang in there and game on.
What is up brother? I miss you. As a long-time GM, especially in d20/OSR, I have very often put the characters/players in direct opposition with a villain, or villainy; however, in the fantasy genre, I find it a very easy model of Good vs Evil and often present the actions of evil (show don't tell): a burned village with many dead innocents as an example. As a GM, the challenge for me is presenting a morally "grey" world. I presume players do want to easily identify the problem. Great video and one day maybe we will share an online table again.
Heyo, looks like you're taking a break. Just wanted to send some positive vibes your way - was rewatching your Harn and ST:A vids and really enjoying them. Hope all's good!
History, with a lot of trauma (the fall of the USSR, expansion of NATO), in a nutshell, the tragedy of life and, sometime, of heroes that feel so self richeous, that they contribute to create evil. (4 minutes in the video) Edit : around 20:30 and 21:00, I think you should really take a look at what happenned to "free" russia, just after the USSR, because we were not good friends to them... :(
@@The_CGA Yet, the past is what lead us where we are. The past explain the Villainy. To understand is important. To solve an issue, asking the right questions and formulating the right problem is necessary to find a solution that is effecient, sustainable. But I can understand what you mean. It suck. We have failed to detere the guy and those who support him. But sanctions will come into action and I doubt Ukraine will fall like a house of cards.
