Yzma was an amazing villain tbh. She's one of the only ones who outright wanted murder. Her ambitions weren't in regards to beauty once they scrapped Kingdom Of The Sun, in the final version of the movie she wants absolute power. Crazier, even, that she actually won for a brief moment.
Omg that's probably why Yzma was scamming old people into buying fake youth potions in Kronk's New Groove. I always thought that was a weird subplot but I guess the writers got it from this old plot line from Kingdom of the Sun
I actually thought about her succeeding in her endeavor and becoming immortal, ultimately taking residence in the Plane of the "Other Side" which would make her Facilier's patron, rather than a version of him. She actually did not die in the end of her movie and still has the chance to complete her ambition off screen.
Yzma being a witch wanting to destroy the sun by making a pact with Supai for a bid at immortality is one HELL of a villain motivation! It kind of bums me out that they cut this song and made Yzma more comedic (I mean, as comedic as you can make a regicidal old lady chemist, but she’s no longer a regicidal psychopathic witch). Don’t get me wrong, I still love the Emperor’s New Groove, but this would’ve been a really interesting concept. This version of her really really reminds me of Shadow Weaver from the newer She-Ra series too. I hope they do something with the original concepts, but unfortunately they probably never well and it will just be dead forever.

If Disney ever remakes this they had better include this fabulous Vegas routine that never was in the film, just think of real ancient ruins in a Vegas casino and Yzma would be in her element , but still use Eartha Kitts voice though
From what I've heard the entirety of Kingdom of the Sun's dialogue was recorded before they abandoned it. So they could very much release something animated to that.

Just a thought: With so many discarted concepts from "Kingdom of the Sun" (one of them being this amazing song) before turning into "Emperor's new groove", they could have taken some of the best ones to recycle them into an epic yet funny sequel in wich Yzma tries to block the sun while Kuzco finds his doppleganger and later finds love. And yet we got "Kronk's new groove". Funny movie, but not good. Good jokes, but it just feels like the pilot to a failed TV show. Nothing is more tragic in film (specially in animation) as wasted potential.
I heard a rumor years ago that they were planning a direct-to-video prequel called “Yzma’s Old Groove” that was going to explain Yzma’s past. It was going to include her plot from “Kingdom of the Sun” and this song. But when Eartha Kitt got sick, they scrapped the idea.

The plot would have to be altered, as well as Yzma's character and motivation, in order to fit this great song into the film.

I think this was from a WAY early draft. Before production took the turn it did.
In the original draft she had to kill kuzco inorder to make a pact to gain immortality, w Kuzco being the “light”
