  • I make my HD280 Pros into portable headphones by replacing the heavy, long coiled cable with a lighter audio cable.

I was mowing a yard and accidentally ripped the whole coiled cord out!! Luckily the four wires just came straight off that pin plug.. Now that I know which wire is which, I kind of want to do this very same plug! Thanks for the 💡!! 😁✌️🎧

I was about to spend around $50 with for a replacement cable because i broke the original cable, i tried to fix the jack itself but i kept having problems
Your video helped me so much i really appreciate it.
    I spent $8 for 10 jack ports and $16 for a 3ft and a 6.5ft cables
    $24 for waaaay more value
I already have a lot of experience with soldering so it was easy to fix
    Thank you again, truly

hey Kiet! Great video, I plan on using it to do the same mod to my pair as well
Did you just sorta stuff the soldered wire into the headphones with the pcb when putting it all back together? And did you keep the electrical tape on when you put everything back in?

kept the electrical tape in there. but i also just stuffed the soldered component on the PCB, so a bit of both I guess.

Hey gonna try this soon. When You say you shorted the ground cables do you mean you cut both in half and spliced them together to make one cable? Or what exactly?

I want to do the same thing to my HD280 Pros. It looks like the jack you linkd to is no longer available. Any recommendations for a replacement?

replace the earpads also they are utterly trash and are the culprit for the dark sound replace it with a velour and strangely it sounds open back even tho I've used a lot of headphone with velour and this doesn't happen specially calibrate it here are some settings for equalizer apo on windows

The stock ear pads made my ears hot and sweaty in five minutes of wear. Replaced with Brainwavz hybrid pads, velour on ears, pleather on outside, perforated foam on inside. Much, much better and more comfy with thicker foam.
