Originally Recorded 9/6/2017
Eager to hear a "Master Blaster" for the first time, I decided to head over to Owenton, Kentucky, part of an enclave teeming with Loudoun sirens for whatever reason. It was a bit of a drive, but there were enough sirens in town for an ambience, should this siren fail. The small town has another Master Blaster, a Model 3, a Model 5, and a manually-controlled Sterling M-10.
Owenton's sirens are part of a joint, tri-county siren system operated by the Kentucky State Police Post which includes Henry, Owen, and Trimble Counties. They're tested the first Wednesday of each month at 11. The plan was to record two sirens, with only a small, time window in between. So once 11:02 rolled around, I was getting anxious.
Then, the radio announcement, came. I got excited until after the tones hit. Nothing from this ES-2000, but the background sirens could be heard as expected. Then the siren started to burp, again and again with each cycle longer than the last. I'd say the controller is having some serious issues but it's not the only sick siren. One of the Model Xs is having pitch problems. It's hard to tell by sound alone, but if you plug the audio into an audio editing suite like Audition, you can see in the spectral view that a siren is having trouble keeping steady. The town's other Master Blaster, which is not that far away from this one, also couldn't be heard. The healthiest siren in this town is the Sterling. It could be heard at a pretty fair distance despite the high pitch.
Enjoy, and as always comment, like, and subscribe for more. Thanks!

Reminds me of The German Pintsch Bamag Sirens that in their ABC alarm cut off the air then abruptly start back up again
Sounds like the batteries are dead. Did you report the siren issue to the county? Nice video though!
There were no Federal Signal sirens doing wail.
I think I did at least message them after this.
yes and it's trying to go off but it is a test only and YOUR A TH-camR AND YOUR NAME IS TRAIN AND SIRENS 1 DUDE!
@@Dmonez ...
@@FireRescue80 yes yes?
Maybe I’m just a sadist, but I love hearing a sick siren
And this, ladies and gentlemen, is why they conduct tests.
These are driven by Crown CE1000s usually. If anything, a driver is having an issue and the amp is tripping into protection mode. Certainly sounds that way anyway.
That's some neat mounting! ^^
@Haitham Aldosari okay..?
It looks like an old school public address speaker system.
Ohh god that is very sick
yes lol
And that's exactly why they're tested
love the ambience!!
An awesome video as always!!
I think the model 3 is the other sick siren because I can hear the model 5 just fine and it’s pitch seems to be ok
1:23 in the backround you can here the 2001-130
There's no 2001s in or heard in the video.
That’s a model 5
I’m sorry but how are you a year late in posting this?
Well, I'm pretty busy with other stuff and I had to convert it from an old render I had. I also try to release videos in such a way so that there's variety. Otherwise, you'd be seeing a lot of 2001 videos or Sentry stuff back to back which could get boring.
Wow.
1:23 The Model 3 and Model 5 sound like an Alertronic
Definitely sounds like a battery issue if this doesn’t run solely off of AC.... I had a megaphone with a siren function, does this as well when the batteries are too weak... either that or something’s wrong with the audio board (electrolyte capacitors are known to dry out over time).
Sounds definitely possible. I went back here last July and it seemed like this siren still had the problem sadly.
@@DSRX100 oh jeez... i didn't realize you responded to my comment, after the first few cycles, it seems to work okay, probably the charging system providing the power to finish the tone out "normally".... although, still fascinating to hear it sound off in such way.
Awesome video
And that folks is my brain on meltdown
I've never heard of one of these
Me when I don't want to do anything.
FeildMarshall Wolf SAME
Awesome!
1:23 kinda sounds like a Seoul Korea siren
Reminds me of a EWOS, because it looks or is a speaker siren
*EOWS
The T-Bolt in the background got my attention instead lol.
What is happening to that thing!!??
This siren was having a meltdown that day
You should do an ambience
I think you can hear sick sirens in the background to,
YIKES! Took a while to get going, but.............needs some meds, STAT❗
Interesting system.
I swear it sounds like a husky howling.. X3
Sounds like it's crying.... but is it fixed?
Sounds like a character that has depression in tsm.
That one kid at the back of the bus:
I think the siren is clogged
That alarm needs some bourbon
Wee woo
None of the videos by this creator will play. At all.. TH-cam FIX THIS
sounds like a 2001 or esc-864
i clearly heard a thunderbolt and possibly a modulator and maybe a 2001
No Thunderbolts, Mods, or 2001s here. You're hearing some Model 5/7s and a Sterling.
@@DSRX100 i know i heard a thunderbolt
This tone is not wail its Attack
Hey Loudoun, get a glass of water. That will help you.
How many watts is it
I think each speaker uses a 400 watt driver so it’s outputting 1600watts of sound
give this thing some coffee
Good tornado siren
Never mind
My brother when I lightly tap him:
It's like a Thai siren
are them bolts in the back?
There's no Thunderbolts.
Jared Thompson ah what are those then?
Read the description.
@@tknovianj.j1641 Better yet, watch the video.
Jared Thompson bruh dont reply if you gonna be rude. tfoh... all you could of said is " no not quite a thunderbolt but a sterlin.. you can check the description for more details". Now go be rude somewhere else.
bang test
A ambiencw alertronic siren
Sounds like an ATI
How?
Damn thing turned into a whale 🐳
That sounds terrible
bkriegel95 if it always sounded like that I think I’d just die 😂
But I don’t want to! Lol
Thunderbolt
Yes they sound like thunderbolts! But likely the other sirens being heard are another master blaster, model 3 another model and a sterlin. Which indeed sounds like a thunderbolt atleast from the distance...
TheKidDrumaddict ™ I also heard a thunderbolt and a 2001
There's no Thunderbolts in the system or 2001s. The other Master Blaster was dead. What you likely heard was the other 12 port Model "X"
@@DSRX100 Model "x"?/
@@SixThreeTech yeah. There was probably Model X sirens in that area..
STH-10B
That siren looks like a tsunami siren
And sounds like one
