- A weekend of Extreame cold weather and Windchill hit Western NL over the past weekend with Temps falling below - 30 with the winds. Took a bit of time to show some of the things on the homestead that I had to prepare for the weather. Also a New purchase of a 2023 Expedition Ace and a home made Groomer that keeps the trails in tip top shape. Also a warm inside dish cooked in my dutch oven Moose Stew topped with Pastry. #offgrid #offgridlife #skidoo #grooming #explorenl #cabinlife

I live in Kirkland lake, Ontarios NFLD. It completely reminds me of my childhood in Buchans. Minus 48 with the windchill the other night. 3 feet of snow.
Our pipes froze in Nova Scotia on that day too lol! Well froze too! It's underground so no way to heat it up here. It's flowing again now though. They said it was wind chill -40 here on the north shore, but in the woods it was fine. The wind actually gave us a grouse to eat that day!
Ohh wow yes mine pipe are free again now too..good thing it only last a day or so..awsome on the gouse

A high pressure steam jenny works well on frozen pipes. That was one lucky squirrel. That was quite a blast of arctic air. Stay safe.

Sharpening the Stihl on the coffee table, love it! Ive rebuild a couple of ski-doo engines on the kitchen counter, beats working in the cold. Speaking of Ski-doo's the expedition is an amazing sled, prefer the trail manners of it over my Skandic swt and almost as much flotation.
I Agree beats the cold and what else could u do on a day like that..yes I had the 900 ace before the 2017 model..but this one is way nicer..loving it so far
Nice video! We have had a real winter here in Colorado as it appears you have. We spent 2 months last summer in Newfoundland and sure miss it.

Did I see 2 wood stoves in the same room in your house. If so, did you fire them both up in those temps? Also, that Ski-doo is the boss!
One is a oil stove and yes we had both of them going with the cold temps
I never left house day of that arctic blast. Coldest day ever here just outside Yarmouth, Nova Scotia. You must got a moose. Do you guys eat the liver? I love deer liver, but most people around here won't touch it.
Yes we had moose meat this year..I didn't eat the liver..some people do but not me..lol
@@ashleyhann-adventuresoffgrid liver actually should be good. I slice deer liver thin. Fry it in dab of butter, onions, serve with potatoes. Can't beat it! I cook it day I get a deer, or next day. For some reason liver don't keep in fridge for 3 or 4 days like steak or roast. I don't know why. Tried it before, after 2 days liver tasted way different. Like idione.

Fuel pump gave out and the part was on back order
